Yes. You can appear for other Bank PO Exams in addition to IBPS Exam to get PO Position in several banks.
IBPS is conducting Common Written Exam for the recruitment of PO positions for 19 public sector banks. SBI and SBI associate banks have not joined hands with IBPS and these are conudcting their own Entrance Exam for the recruitment of PO positions. Several private sector banks will conduct their own Entrance Exam (Written Exam) for the recruitment of PO positions to their respective banks. The candidates who have secured minium qualifying marks in each of the categories of the written exam will be called to Interview on 1:3 ratio. But if you want to get PO position in any public sector banks, then it is must that you have to crack IBPS PO Exam. Here is the eligibility criteria that you need to possess to take up this exam. -You should have completed Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university. -You should be in the age group of 20-30 years to be eligible for IBPS PO Exam. -Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category. -Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 5 years for the candidates of SC/ST category. Yes, Nothing like that.
You can apply for Bank jobs of various banks through their recruitment process. But IBPS is conducting exam for 19 public sector banks. Its quite good and easy for a candidate to prepare a single exam for their eligibility in 19 public sector Banks. PARTICIPATING BANKS Allahabad Bank Indian Overseas Bank Andhra Bank Oriental Bank of Commerce Bank of Baroda Punjab National Bank Bank of India Punjab & Sind Bank Bank of Maharashtra Syndicate Bank Canara Bank UCO Bank Central Bank of India Union Bank of India Corporation Bank United Bank of India Dena Bank Vijaya Bank Indian Bank The scores awarded to qualified candidates are also likely to be used by a few other Banks and Financial Institutions like IDBI, ECGC etc. for selection for entry level Officers’ posts. Candidates will however have to satisfy the eligibility criteria for these organizations as individually stipulated by them One can also apply for other banks like Gramin banks or State banks exam with our taking IBPS exam. |

Quote:
Yes, you can apply for many banks and IBPS is only for requiting the various posts in 19 public sector banks, they include allahabad bank, indian overseas bank, andhra bank, oriental bank of commerce, bank of baroda, punjab national bank, bank of india, punjab & sind bank, bank of maharashtra, syndicate bank, canara bank, union bank of india, central bank of india, united bank of india, corporation bank, uco bank, dena bank, vijaya bank, indian bank.. Above mention banks are requiting through IBPS CWE entrance exam, so you can apply other banks and for attending the other bank exam required general educational qualifications are you must completed the graduation with 50% marks and required age limit should be 21-30years and here age relaxation for reserved category candidates as per govt rules such as 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates. In my view, you need to write the IBPS exam, because of many public sector banks are requiting through IBPS exam only and first of all you need to apply for IBPS exam and the IBPS is conducted exam every year 2 times such as June and November and if you want more information click link : www.ibps.in/ ~~ Regards EALPExpert |

Re: Can I appear for Bank PO Exam without appearing for IBPS Exam?
There is no such thing as IBPS Exam. IBPS means Institute of Banking Personnel Services. It is a 40 years old institute that conducts banking exam. So the Bank PO Exam that you are referring to is actually conducted by the IBPS. Therefore the correct name of the exam is IBPS Bank PO.
You don't need to give 2 separate exams. If you are interested in PO/MT job in Public Sector Banks then you need to give IBPS Bank PO Exam. By passing this exam alone, you will be eligible for the banking job. There is another exam conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Services which is called IBPS Clerk Exam. If you want, you can also appear for this exam. But since the qualification criteria is the same for both exams, I will recommend you to appear for Bank PO which you also seems to be interested to give. Below is the criteria to appear for IBPS Bank PO Exam. Eligibility 1. You should be Indian citizen. 2. A degree in any stream from a recognized university. 3. Your age should be 20 to 30 years. 4. The age limit is relaxed 3 years for OBC. 5. SC/ST are given 5 years relaxation. 6. Person with Disability is given 10 years relaxation. Date The next Bank PO exam will be conducted next year in June. There is no official word of the date. It will be declared couple of months prior to the exam by the IBPS through a notification. You can appear for the exam after applying for it online through www.ibps.in By clearing the IBPS Bank PO exam, you will be eligible to apply for the job in 19 Public Sector Banks. >>>>>19 Public Sector Banks<<<<< Allahabad Bank Andhra Bank Bank of Baroda Bank of Maharashtra Bank of India Central Bank of India Canara Bank Dena Bank Corporation Bank Indian Overseas Bank Indian Bank Punjab National Bank Oriental Bank of Commerce Syndicate Bank Punjab & Sind Bank United Bank of India Union Bank of India Vijaya Bank UCO Bank |
