IES Stands for Indian Engineering Service examination and this examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission Once in a year.

If you have completed Engineering course from any discipline then also you are applicable for IES exam OR If you have M.Sc degree in Physics , Radio Physics then you are applicable for IES exam.Final year student also eligible for IES exam .

List of the Selected departments for IES Exam -

>> Civil Engineering.
>> Mecahnical Engineering.
>> Electrical Engineering.
>> Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.

You are from B-Tech in IT department so you are not eligible IES Exam .

The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC candidate.

Number of attempts for IES exam is for general student it is 4., for OBC it is 7 times. and for SC/ST it is 9 time.

Sorry Engineers from IT field are not eligible for IES exam which is conducted by UPSC.

To apply for IES exam you must be Engineering Graduate in disciplines like Civil or Mechanical or Electronics and communication or Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.

The age must be between 21 to 30 years for General category candidate. There is age relaxation available for other categories based on government rules.

You have to pass written exam which will test your skills in your respective field. Hence you must have very good knowledge about your field then only you will be able to qualify this exam.

so friend, you are from IT background that's why you are not eligible for IES

Sorry, You are not eligible for this IES exam with your course of Information Technology.The Indian Engineering Service exam is only open for Engineering candidates who have graduated in one of the four following streams of the B.Tech.

Electrical Engineering
Mechanical engineering.
Electronics and Communication Engineering.
Civil Engineering

Eligibility for IES

**Candidate should be Indian Citizen

**The age limit for the IES exam is 21 to 30 years.Relaxation in upper age limit is available for the SC/ST/OBC candidates.

Relaxation:

OBC: 3 years

SC/ST: 5 years

**You must complete B.Tech course in Electrical, Electronics & Communications, Civil and Mechanical Engineering.

**Final year students of B.Tech course can also apply for IES Exam.
