Dear sir,
i have completed my B.Tech. in I.T(information technology) trade.can i am apply
in IES. please tell me about this.

IES- Indian Engineering Services Exam was held on 14th May,2011 for the academic year 2011.

This is a premier competitive examination conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) for selecting engineers for Government of India's engineering organizations.

As per the eligibility criteria,
-One must be in the age group of 21-30 years
-One must have completed his graduation in Engineering

As you have done you B.Tech in Information Technology, you can apply for IES exam.

As the examination was over for this academic year, you can apply for the next year recruitment

Educational Qualifications :

must be passed graduation in following department for IES exam

1)Electrical Engineering
2)Electronics & Communications Engineering
3)Civil Engineering
4)Mechanical Engineering

or equivalent degree from recognized universities.

M.Sc. degree or equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering .


Students of final year Engineering or equivalent degree are also eligible.

Age Limits :

Not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years

yess B-TECh are eligible for IES exam but you are in above department.

your graduation degree B-TECH (IT) . So you are not eligible for IES exam.

relax-5 years for sc/st
3 years for obc
maximum 4 times attempts for general
7 times for obc
no limits for sc/st.....

yes you can apply for ies exam after btech it whatever the branch it may be you can apply for it...

You are not eligible for the IES examination.

To appear in the Indian Engineering Service (IES) examination you need

the following eligibility criteria :

Educational Qualification :- To

appear in the IES examination you need a engineering degree in any

one of the following branch :-

->Electronics engineering.
->Electrical engineering.
->Civil engineering.
->Mechanical engineering.

The computer science and Information Technology branch are not eligible for the IES examination.

So, if you completed engineering course in the Information Technology
branch then you are not eligible for the IES exam.

Hello friend,
Since you have done BTech in Information Technology, you are eligible to write Engineering Service Exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission-UPSC.
The minimum eligible age for the exam is 21 years.
The maximum age limit is 30 years with relaxation of upto 3 years for OBC's and 35 years for SC/ST.

The examination is conducted only in the following disciplines of engineering:
Civil Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.

Since the exam is conducted once a year and the engineering service exam 2011 is already over, you will have to wait for the notification of engineering service exam 2012 which will be published on the official website of UPSC.

The IES exam is conducted by UPSC.....
the exam is conducted in the following disciplines-
*Electronics and Communication
*Electrical
*Mechanical
*Civil
the eligibility criteria is-
*you must have complete your graduation in engineering.
* your age should be in between 21-30 years..
As you have mention that you are from IT stream, then you can appear in this exam, but you have to give the exam on the syllabus of above mention any one of the disciplines..
you can not give the exam on your own subjects..
now you decide what you will do..
