i am belongs to 3rd b.tech.
can i apply to gate entrance?

GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. This is being conducted by Indian Institute of Science and 7 IIMs (Indian Institute of Management).

In order to be eligible for this Examination, one should have completed Graduation in Engineering.

In additon the candidates who are pursuing final year of Engineering are also eligible to apply for this examination.

There is no age limit in order to appear for this exam. One can appear for this exam at any age.

GATE score is valid for a period of 2 years in the sense if you have appeared for GATE Exam in the final year of your Engineering and after the completion of your Engineering, you can use the GATE score whichever you wanted in order to get admission for M.Tech course.

From this academic year, pre final year candidates are not eligible to apply for GATE Exam.

Hence, being a candidate of 3rd year B.Tech, you are not eligible to apply for this examination.

So, I suggest you to have good preparation for GATE Exam from this year and appear for GATE Exam and crack the Exam.

Dear friend,

The eligibility criteria for GATE exam:-

(a) Bachelor’s degree holders in Engineering/Technology or its equivalent.

(b) Bachelor’s degree holders in Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science/Electronics/ followed by qualifications obtained through an examination conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE.

(c) Bachelor’s degree holders in Architecture/Design (for M Des program only)

(d) Master’s degree holders in Physics with Electronics/Instrumentation (for M Tech programs).

NOTE-

From this year only final year student are eligible.

3rd year student are not eligible for GATE exam.

GATE score is valid for 2 years.

GATE entrance exam is held once in a year,this is conducted by IIT's to intake qualified students for Post graduation course in Engineering,Architecture and Statistical course.

This exam score is valid for 2 years.

Appearing for final year with above mentioned course can also eligible for Gate exam.

Hi

=> I aware you about that from this year B.Tech 3rd year Student can not sit in GATE 2012 Examination.

=> Only final year Pass out students are eligible for GATE 2012 Exam.

For Gate exam you should have completed graduation then you are eligble for gate exam so first complete your degree

Well sorry to say that pre-final year (3rd year) Students are not eligible for GATE From this year i.e on 2012..

GATE Stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering which is conducted by IIT Delhi this time..

## B.tech 3rd yr candidates are not eligible for GATE this time in 20112.Because,IIT's took a clear admission strategy for M.Tech.

Details of GATE::

# GATE scores are valid for 2 years and so will hold by the time you pass out from your engineering degree.

# The application fee is Rs. 1000/- for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 500/- for SC/ST/PD candidates.

# Candidates have to apply only through ONLINE.

# Application forms are going to be available from 12th sept'2011.

# GATE papers are fully objective type.

# GATE consists of 65 questions with negative marking and you will be having 3hrs.duration.

# GATE is for 100marks.

sorry but from this year its prohibited that a 3rd year student can't apply for GATE exam.last year it was applicable but now itsn not right.

Eligibility Criteria for GATE

GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is conducted every year for admissions to M.Tech courses in various top level colleges of India like IITs,NITs,BITS,IISc and many more..

In order to appear for the GATE 2012..you should be a final year B.Tech student or a B.Tech degree holder in any stream..

NOTE :- 3rd year or pre-final year students are not eligible for appearing for GATE 2012

The GATE exam is going to take place on 29th January,2012 in the online mode and on 12th February,2012 in the offline mode..

There is no restriction for age or number of attempts for appearing in GATE so you have all the time in the world to prepare and do well..

From next year onward..you shall be eligible for appearing in the GATE exam..

b.tech final year and third are are allow to join this test

according to GO passed in 2011,you are eligible to attend GATE exam now, you can give it in final year.

prefinal year student are not eligible to attend GATE EXAM...

I am sorry to say that you are not eligible for G.A.T.E exam.

G.A.T.E stand for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.
G.A.T.E exam is conducted by INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, DELHI.

If you want to apply for G.A.T.E exam than you can apply after passing the B.Tech course.
