Can I apply for IAS after passing B.A with 50%


I am passed ba whith 50%. Can i apply for ias.

Yes, you can apply for IAS exam because you have completed B.A degree with 50% marks.

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services. IAS exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission. IAS exam is conducted one time in a year.

If you have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognized university then you are eligible for IAS exam.

Age Criteria:

For General: 21 to 30 years
For OBC: 21 to 33 years
For SC/ST: 21 to 35 years

No. of Attempts:

For General: 3
For OBC: 7
For SC/ST: No Restriction

Selection process for IAS exam:

1)Preliminary test
2)Mains exam
3)Personal interview

Yes, you are eligible to sit for IAS exam after completing your BA (Bachelor of Arts).

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts this exam every year in the three stages that are 1). Preliminary exam, 2). Main exam and 3). Personal Interview.

Generally, candidates who have done their bachelor degree in any discipline from the recognized university are eligible to sit for this exam. Candidates who are pursuing their final year of graduation are also applicable. Minimum applicable course duration for this exam would be at least 3 years.

There is no any percentages restriction so, you can surely apply for it.

Your age should be between 21 to 30 years. If you belong to reserved category then, age relaxation is applicable as per government rule i.e., +3 years for OBC, +5 years for SC/ST and +10 years for PWD.

General category candidates can apply maximum 4 times whereas, OBC category candidates can apply for 7 times and No attempt restriction for SC/ST category.

IAS examination is an all India entrance examination conducted by UPSC to recruit candidates for the post of IAS officer.

There is no minimum percentage required in graduation to become eligible for IAS.

You are eligible for IAS if you satisfy the below criteria

* Complete graduation in any discipline from any recognized University.

* Age must be in between 21 to 30 years.Age relaxation rule for Sc/ST/OBC is as per Indian government rules.

* Only a citizen of India can apply for IAS.

* General candidate can at most attempt 3 times for IAS examination.5 times for OBC.No such restriction for SC/ST.

Selection process in IAS:

1. Preliminary Examination.

2. Main Examination.

3. Interview.

4. Medical Test.

Of course you are eligible to join IAS entrance examination having 50% marks in B.A.

IAS (Indian Administrative Services)entrance examination is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission)every year.

UPSC Eligibility to join IAS:-

1.Any Graduate or a final year candidate from the recognized University having minimum pass marks can apply for IAS entrance examination.

2.Age: General: 21-32 years. OBC:21-35 years. S/C S/T:21-37 years.

3.Attempts:General: Candidates have to clear IAS within 06 chances.

OBC: OBC candidates to clear IAS entrance exam.within 09 chances.

S/C S/T: Candidates to clear IAS entrance examination till their age eligibility permit.

Candidates to clear exams before getting selection:-

a)Preliminary exam.

b)Mains exam.

3.Interview.

Sure you can apply for IAS exam after passing BA with 50%. There is no minimum percentage criteria for IAS Exam.

To become IAS you have to appear for Civil Service Exam. Civil Service Exam is conducted by UPSC once a year. Civil Service exam is conducted for the post of IAS, IFS, IPS, IRS.

Eligibility for IAS :

Candidate must complete his.her graduation degree from any recognised university in any discipline. There is no minimum marks criteria. Final year students can also apply for Civil Service Exam. They have to produce therir degree at the time of Main examination.

Nationality :Candidate must be citizen of India.

Age of candidate must be from 21 to 30 years. Age relaxation is also provided as per government norms. Age relaxation is provided as follows :
For OBC Candidates : 3 years
For SC/ST candidates : 5 years

Number of attempts for IAS Exam:
  • For General Candidate : 3
  • For OBC candidates : 5
  • For SC/ST candidates : Unlimited

Selection Procedure :
  • Preliminary Exam
  • Main Examination
  • Personal Interview

# There is no any doubt over your candidature for civil service examination.

# Civil Service Examination is the one of the most popular, prestigious and difficult examination among graduate candidates in India.

# Civil Service Examination is open for all graduates irrespective of

* nature of bachelor degree
* marks/percentage obtained
* nature of recognised university

# Minimum age fixed for the examination is 21 years for all candidates. While the upper age is different for every category such as

* 30 years for Unreserved Category
* 33 years for OBC category
* 35 years for SC/ST category

# There is provision of setting some fixed number of attempts for every category such as

* Only seven attempts for OBC category
* Only four attempts for UR category
* Unlimited attempts for SC/ST category

# Pattern of examination is as follows:

* Preliminary Examination
* Mains Examination
* Interview by Panel of UPSC

Yes, you are eligible apply for IAS exam after passing B.A with 50% because for apply IAS exam the minimum Education qualification is Graduation degree in any stream from a recognized University.
