Dear,

You can apply for IAS after completing your engineering. B.tech students perform really well in these eaxms as they have high analytical ability.
IAS stands for Indian administration service. This is a dream for any Indian to be an IAS because of the respect and responsibilities attached to tis post.UPSC conduct exam for this post every year for which you can apply after completing your B.tech as graduation is mandatory to appear for this exam.

IAS exam eligibility :
  • You must be a graduate from any stream from a recognized college or university.
  • Your age must be between the 21 to 30 years ,5 years age relaxation for the SC/ST & 3 years age relaxation for the OBC students.

As this post is the highest in civil services, if you are really serious for it then start your preparation a year before taking this exam as it takes a complete year for its preparation. You need to work really hard for it.A good coaoching will help you as they provide proper guidance, study material and practise sessions which is required for your preparation. Apart from it self study is equally important.

You can follow some good books like:

Dear friend,
To join IAS you have two choices either you can directly go to training classes and appear for the IAS exam or you can attend TNPSC group 1 exam.... It is noted that you have limited number of chances on appearing for the exam directly instead of group exams... So work hard... All the very best...
