Re: How to apply for IAS after passing engineering?
You must follow the same procedure as everyone else will to apply for the Indian Administrative Service. There is a need to clear Civil Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission to become Indian Administrative Service officer.
The preparation and list of subjects remains the same for each candidates. Except of the optional subjects which every candidate has to select according to his own comfort. You will be selecting subject for the Language paper where you will be presented a choice to pick from various languages including Hindi, Gujarati and several other regional languages. Besides it in the main examination you will select 2 optional subjects on which 4 written tests will be conducted. Again these subjects will depend on you. The subjects should be selected that are either related to your course or the ones you find easy. IAS Eligibility 1. You should be Indian citizen. 2. Under graduate degree is required. 3. No criteria set for minimum percentage. 4. Age limit is 21 to 30 which is relaxed for reserve category. 5. The relaxation is 3 years in upper age for OBC. 6. While 5 years for the SC/ST. 7. There are no physical criteria for IAS. Selection Procedure 1. Preliminary Examination > General Studies > Optional Subject 2. Main Examination > English > Language > Essay > General Studies 1 > Genera Studies 2 > Optional Subject 1 > Optional Subject 1 > Optional Subject 2 > Optional Subject 2 3. Personal Interview |
