Re: Can i apply for IES exam, I am doing electronics and instrumentation engineering?
Yes of course you are eligible to apply........!
Any engineer is eligible to appear for IES, but the candidate have to appear under the any of the 4 categories viz: 1)Civil Engineering, 2) MEchanical Engineering, 3) Electrical Engineering and 4) Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. So, you can appear for any of the relevant category and I think either Mechanical or Electronics & Telecomminication will be your relevant category. |

However, if you are selected in the written exam then the eligibilty condition is that, you should have earned your B.Tech or B.E degree. This is only possible of you are in your final year of your undergraduate engineering course.

Re: Can i apply for IES exam, I am doing electronics and instrumentation engineering?
Dear friend,
yes you can appear for IES examination but you can not give paper from instrumentation subject because there are only 4 branches available for papers like 1- Mechanical 2- Civil 3- Electrical 4- Electronic and telecommunication. i think electronic and telecommunication is better to choose for paper because from this branch you will get many subject related to instrumentation. all the best. |

You are eligible for IES exam. But you should be doing your final year because the eligibility criterion for IES is graduate from a recognized University with at least 50% marks. You should not be less than 21 years and not more than 30 years.

See the list branches for Engineering Services Examination :-
So,my point your not eligible to write the examination.Because your stream is not in the above list.If you have any branch in above list. You are eligible to apply for this examination. My suggestion is go for the Civil Service examination. For Civil Service the candidate must have a graduate degree in any Discipline. The applicant age should between 21 years to 30 years. Those in the final year of examination can also apply for the examination. |
