Re: Can I go for IAS at the age of 36 years?
Dear Rakesh,
According to the age eligibility criteria given by UPSC for IAS exam is that General and Other Backward Class people can give IAS exam between age 21 years to 30 years and the maximum attempts provided are 4 and 7 respectively while for SC/ST people this age limit has been given 5 years relaxation such that they can attempt for IAS exam till the age of 35 years. Since you have crossed the maximum age limit for eligibility for IAS exam, you can not take this any more. |

Re: Can I go for IAS at the age of 36 years?
To become an IAS officer you must clear an exam conducted by UPSC. To be eligible for the exam your age must be between 21and 30 yrs. As per the age relaxation announced by the government it is 5yrs more in upper limit for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes. So your age must be below 35yrs to be eligible for writing the exam. Thus you are not eligible now for writing the exam.

Re: Can I go for IAS at the age of 36 years?
No you are not eligible for IAS.
The normal age limit is between 21 years and 30 years.... Though you belong to SC category, but still you are not eligible. Because for SC/ST candidates, the maximum age limit allowed is 35 years (i.e 5 years relaxation of age), and you are 36 years old....rules can not be changed. So you are not eligible. If you want to see the guidelines and eligibility criteria, then visit: http://www.upsc.gov.in |

No, dear
you have cross the maximum age bar. As you are a SC candidate, 5 year relaxation in age is given to you but the max. limit after including relaxation sum up to 35. Now you are 36. According to your age, it seems to be quit impossible for you to get into civil services examination. So, sorry to say, you are not eligible for the upcoming civil services examination. |
