You can join NDA if you have completed 12th. 12th passed candidates in any subject can try for NDA exam. Aspirants within age group of 16 ½ and 19 years can apply. Also you must be an unmarried male candidate. Detailed information will be available in UPSC website.

NDA stands for National Defence Academy examination . NDA examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission twice in a yearI . NDA has three wing - Army wings, Navy wings, Air force Wings.

Physical eligibility criteria for NDA exam is given below-

Height of NDA Exam:-

For Army Wings - 157.5 cms
For Air Force - 162.5 cms
For Naval Academy - 157 cms

Weight of NDA Exam:-

For Army & Naval Academy : 46-49 kgs.

For Air force :48-52 kgs.

Other Physical criteria for NDA exam:-

Running : 2 to 4 Km. in 15 minutes
Skipping
Pushups : Minimum 20 each Sit-ups
Chin ups : Minimum 08
Rope Climbing : 3 to 4 meters.

NDA I exam date already over for this year so if you want to join in Indian Army then you can can apply for NDA II 2013 Exam.

By passing commerce i hope you are implying that you have studied commerce at 10+2 level because NDA exam is only for those candidates who have passed 12th standard. Full form of NDA is National Defense Academy. This exam is twice conducted by the Union Public Service Commission in the months of April and September. This exam can be given for entering the following academies:-

• Indian Military Academy
• Naval Academy
• Air Force Academy

The training period will continue for three years after which you will complete graduation and will be awarded with a degree. During filling up the application form you have to mention over there whether you want to join NDA or NA. Final selection will based not on your preference only but the overall performance you manage to deliver.

It should be remembered that this exam is only for the unmarried male citizens of India. During your stay at the training period you cannot get hitched. Then you will be asked to leave. Unfortunately girls are not allowed to take part in this examination.

The educational qualification required for each academy is different. For IMA you just need to pass H.S. or its equivalent from a recognized board as mentioned earlier. Here your subject combination at 10+2 level is irrelevant.

But for those who wants to join the NA or AFA they not only has to pass 12th standard successfully from a recognized board but in addition to that they need to have physics and mathematics as their compulsory subjects at 10+2 level.

Only those candidates whose age are not less than 16.5 yrs and not more than 19 years can apply for this exam.

The NDA exam can be divided into several parts because it is not limited to the written examination only. Along with that there is a physical test one needs to undergo and an interview test is there where the students are made to indulge in lots of activities. All these things are done to assess the mental and physical strength of the candidate in every way possible.

The exam pattern in a nutshell is like this:-

1. Mathematics (2.5 hours)- 300 marks
2. General Ability Test (2.5 hours)- 600 marks

General Ability papers consists of two parts, Part A tests candidate’s English skills and part B covers General knowledge which include questions from Physics, Chemistry, Geography, General Science, History and current events. Question paper will be set in both English and Hindi.
