Re: Standard books to prepare for GATE exam if I am not taking any GATE coaching?
Dear Friend,
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all-India i.e., a national level examination which is conducted by eight zones such as One Indian Institute of Science(IISc),Bangalore and the Seven IITs(Bombay,Kharagpur,Kanpur,Guahati,Roorkee,Madra s,Delhi) It a very good decision not to take the coaching,I thing its very good confident level According to me you should follow some tips such as: Important Tips: 1:According to me,maintain a time table to allow yourself to devote minimum6-8hrs per day for the GATE. 2:Then try to collect the base or main material of any subject. 3:.Study the Syllabus 4:Try to solve the Previous questions papers 5:Try to Solve more and more problems, 6:Try to discover more and more new own tricks by which you can easily solve any problem in a less time . 7:You can go for self tests. Besides these, there are some reference books such as G.K Publication, Handa for online study materials visit:http://onestopgate.com http://www.gateforum.com Good luck. |

Re: Standard books to prepare for GATE exam if I am not taking any GATE coaching?
No coaching is not so important for passing the gates examination.you can simply do it by your dedicated study of hardly two years. TOGETHER WITH GATES i think is the right book for its preparation.

Re: Standard books to prepare for GATE exam if I am not taking any GATE coaching?
You have not mentioned your stream...because for GATE, books are available topic wise.
You will not get a book which covers the whole subject except the GATE Solved Paper of your desirable stream. To cover the whole topic of the exam, you have to read books of various authors on various topics. You will get the list of best books of your subject here! It is advisable that you take a coaching for GATE to crack it in first attempt. But if you don't want to take any, then you have to work very very hard for that. You should have a very strong base of the subject...a clear idea of all topics...study for atleast 18 hours a day for the exam. And be confident. Take online study materials for getting the pattern, follow previous years solved papers... You will get them here! Follow the standard books...don't try to read those books which is not popular for GATE. Prepare notes chapter wise...while studying, don't leave any doubt, clear your doubts anyhow! These are some tips for self study....the rest is up to you. Be confident and be dedicated! |
