Are the students having spectacles will be selected for AFMC if they are perfect in their studies ?

Yes, the students having spectacles will be selected for AFMC though they are perfect in studies as the Conditions for the physical standard are as under-
AMC Cadet
(a) Height (Min):Male- 1.63 m (5'- 4")

Female -1.55 m (5'-l")



(b) Weight (Min):Male- 45.36 Kg (100 lbs)

Female- 40.72 Kg (88 lbs)

(c) Chest (Min) : Male- Normal - 0.76m (30") Expanded - 0.81 m (32")

Female- Normal - 0.71m (28")

Expanded - 0.76m (30")

(d) Visual Standard- 6/6 (±) 2.5 corrected with glass)

(e) Color blindness is not accepted.

(f) Hearing must be within normal limit














Relaxable in case of meritorious candidate

I too don't know this exactly, but since I researched on the web a bit, I got the following:

You need to have BCVA (Best corrected visual acuity) of 6/6 which may be with spectacles that only have their power between +2.5 D and -2.5 D

But the visual criteria should be as follows

1. distant vision - 6/6-6/18

2.near vision N5-N8

3.myopia not more than -3.5D

4.hypermetropia not more than +3.5D

A graduate of B.Sc. Examination with not less than two of the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany or Zoology) are eligible.
you spectacles do not have any role to play. If you have above qualification you can apply

Listen friend,this entrance is for those examinee who have 6/6 vison i.e. Perfect vison.maximum + 2.5D to - 2.5D corrected by spectacles are granted at a mirgin.
