at present through gate 4 companies hiring candidates.
1. BHEl
2.IOCL
2.PGCIL
3.NTPC
in further other company;s also hiring candidates through gate

i have a gate rank of 296 in gate 2012,but for btech kerala unversity only 58 percent,will ii get a job in any public or private sector companies based on gate score?As i am not a financial situation for higher studies.

what is the minimum maks in gate for getting in to the bhel,ntpc such companies

is it necessary to pass out B.E in 4 years so as to be eligible to apply for the companies that admit through GATE

I got 79.4% in mechanical and scored 6131rank in gate-2012 with 94.54 percentile.

Nice to see you interest in the field of the GATE entrance examination. GATE is stand for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. General Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) is critical for Engineering graduates who are seeking job in the Public Sector Undertaking (PSU). Some of the Public Sector Undertakings offer admission on the basis of the GATE score.

The Public Sector Undertakings are companies controlled by the government of India. The government is the major stakeholder in these companies. Engineering graduates are eligible for jobs in such companies.

The procedure of getting job include written test which is followed by interview. However not all Public Sector Undertakings follow this procedure. There are some companies mentioned below that follow different procedure. Instead of written test, they consider the GATE score of the candidate to offer jobs.

The other Public Sector Undertakings continue to conduct written test. However a candidate with good GATE score is exempted from appearing for the written test and instead asked to appear for interview. Therefore regardless of which PSU you are applying for, the GATE score plays critical role.


PSU Eligibility

1. You can only apply for PSU if citizen of India.

2. B.Tech/B.E. degree from a valid college is required.

3. At least 60 percent marks should be scored in Engineering course.

4. The candidate should clear all pending backlogs before applying for PSU.

5. The candidate between the age group of 21 to 30 are eligible to apply.

6. There is 3 years relaxation in upper age limit for OBC.

7. SC/ST are granted 5 years relaxation.

In order to get jobs in Navratnas/Maharatnas companies you will have to give PSU(Public sector undertaking) Exam.There are few government sector companies which take recruitment on the basis of GATE Score card.

But apart from the score that you have get in GATE Exam,you will have to meet certain eligibility criteria for joining these organization.

~Your minimum marks in all the semester of Engineering should be 60%.

Age :-
~Your minimum age should be 21 years.

I'v 50% in ece engineering with 15 backlogs and 2 year-backs. Still if I'v high score in gate and ies will I get placed in PSUs like petroleum companies.
