The intake for IPS post is taken through the Civil Services

Examination conducted every year by the UPSC. The important

dates for the examination are as follows:

1) Notification date: 19th February,2011

2) Last date of submission of application forms: 21st March,2011

3) Date of examination: 12th June,2011

most probably in january-february of every the upsc board give the notification for the exam. The exam (prelims) held on feb-march of that year.

It is very nice to see that you want to serve the nation by becoming an IPS officer in future.

To apply for the IPS officer's job you have to apply for the Civil Service Examination conducted by the UPSC.The examination is conducted in two steps which is followed by personal Interview.

This year the examination is already over.The notification of the examination next year will come in the month of February.And the examination will be probably conducted in the month of June.For more information you can check the official website of UPSC.

Hi friend,

The notification would be released on 4.02.2012 and the last date would be 5.03.2012 .

The prelims examination is scheduled to be on 20.05.2012.
The mains examination is scheduled to be on 05.10.2012.

The total time period of exam would be around 10 months starting with prelims in May 2012 to interviews in Feb and March.
