You need to have completed LLM degree. Also there is a minimum of 21years and maximum of 35 years age limit. You have the option to appear for either the Law Service Commission exam or go in for the State level exam. The exam will have both the prelims and also the mains exam. In prelims you will be tested mostly on the various codes like Indian Penal Code, Code of Civil Procedure. In the mains you will be required to appear for 4 papers. Also if you clear both these levels you will also need to appear for the viva voce.

Magistrate exam qualifications :
#) ba.bl or llb degree is must
#) age in bwt 21 to 35 yrs
#) must be a member of a specified bar association
#) no any percentage is required in ug degrees
#) if u crossed the age of 35 means, 2 yrs advocate experience is enough
Syllabus :
#) Ipc, crpc, cpc, evidence act and constitutional law is best enough
no questions ll be there without these laws

Special advice : for preparing these laws a six month time is much enough but for the translation paper and judgment n issuse paper is need a great practice most of the people have failed in these papers only..

Congrats friends ..
