Do i need to write gate exam?or is there any entrance exam in spa?

GATE exam stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.

It is conducted for admission to PG Programmes in IITs, NITs, etc.

Admission in School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi or SPA is entirely based on qualifying examination and/or GATE/CED/Project/Portfolio, Statement of purpose, test or an interview.

So, if you wish to take admission in SPA, Delhi then you need to write GATE exam.
