For IPS you have to appear for the Civil Service Exam to be conducted by the UPSC held every year.
The minimum eligibility can be noted as follows: *Age Limit: Minimum 21 years of age as on 1st August of the year of exam. Upper age limit is 30 years. Relaxable upto 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST. *Educational Qualification: A Graduate Degree in any field, from a recognized university. Since you have a post graduate degree, you are eligible, but you must qualify in the age limit criteria as well. *Maximum Permissible attempts: General:4 OBC:7 SC/ST:No limit. Forms are now available. You must submit the completed application by 21.03.2011 Date of Prelims:12.06.2011 Date of Mains:219.10.2011 |

Yes,you can become IPS officer after graduation. Upsc conducts civil service examination every year and selects officers in IAS,IFS,IPS etc. Through this examination. Graduation is the minimum qualification required to apply for this examination and a final year student can also apply for CSE. The notification for 2011 civil service examination is published in the employment news dated 19 feb - 25 feb 2011. Please check it for any type of information about the examination.

Minimum education criteria = Graduate
Maximum age criteria = 28yrs CSAT 2011 exams will be conducted on 12th June. and last date of applying for the same is 21at March... please refer www.upsc.gov.in for further detail and to apply.. How to apply:-You have to apply for UPSC (Union Public Services Commission) exam. This time UPSC pattern is changed and it is called as CSAT which is coming into effect from Civil Services Examination, 2011.and so there is no option subjects... Bachelor’s degree in any subject or in any engineering stream or equivqlent from a recognised institute / university. 2. Age - 21 Years to 30 Years for General candidates, 21 Years to 33 Years for OBC candidates and 21 Years to 35 Years for SC / ST candidates. 3. IPS exam conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) when positions are vacant.
There are three round in IPS exam. 1.Preliminary Exam 2. Mains Exam 3. Interview Educational qualification One should hold a degree of any recognized universitiy. He/She should be an Indian. Age Limit - 21 years to 30 years. The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable. |

For becoming IPS officer you can give Civil Services Exam. IPS is a government job which is conducted every year by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission ). The Required Educational qualifications required for IPS exam are as follows- You have completed your any Graduate degree. The age limit is between 20 to 30 with relaxations for SC's/ST's and OBC's . CSAT exams are held on 12th June and last date for applying March 31st
Age Limit A candidate must have the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years. Educational Qualification Graduation form an recognized university. Applying Procedure - IAS Exam conducted by UPSC (Union Public Services Commission) and you have to apply it through the online or in the normal form issuing in Post office and published in Employment Newspaper. This Year UPSC pattern is changed and it is renamed by CSAT which is coming into effect from Civil Services Examination, 2011. In this there is no option subjects... |

(i) Age limits :
21-30 years for general Upper age limit for SCs/STs is 35 , OBCs is 33 . (ii) Educational Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree of a recognised university Candidates who have appeared or intend to appear for the qualifying examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to appear for the Preliminary Examination. Candidates with professional and technical qualifications recognised by the Government as equivalent to professional and technical degrees. Candidates who have passed the final year of MBBS or any Medical Examination but are yet to complete the internship can also appear for the Main Examination (iii) No. of permissible attempts : Four for general ,Seven attempts of OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. |

FOR DETAILS: Eligibility Criteria for UPSC IPS : 1.Age limit 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year,in which a candidate is appearing. Eligibility Criteria for IPS Officer is as mentioned below:-
1) You must be at least 21 years of age at the time of filling the Civil Services (Preliminary) Exam form and not more than 30 years of age . 2) You must possess a graduate degree in any discipline . 3) Candidates who are in the final semester or have taken their final degree exam but are awaiting the results can also appear for the IAS and IPS . for being an ips officer
You must be 21 years (minimum) and 30 years (maximum) at the time of taking exam. SC/ST/OBC and ex-servicemen are given exemption of 3 to 5 years in maximum age limit. People belonging to general category can appear for IPS exam four times, while OBCs can appear for seven times but no limit has been set for SC/ST. keep in mind, even appearing in just exam is counted as an attempt. You also need to meet physical standards mentioned in application form. |
