I am 20yrs old and I will complete my graduation in june of this year. am i elligible for IAS?

Definately you are eligible for the civil service exam through which you can get IAS.

IAS exam conducts annualy by UPSC.

Recently board changed the pattern of prelim.exam of civil service.

Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. -Class X level)
English Language Comprehension skills (Class X level).
Questions relating to English Language Comprehension skills of Class X level (last item in the Syllabus of Paper-II) will be tested through passages from English language only without providing Hindi translation thereof in the question paper.

The questions will be of multiple choice, objective type.

For becoming an IAS, you need to appear for the Civil Service Exam that is conducted by the UPSC.

The eligibility for the Civil Service exam is that you must complete your graduation from a recognized university in any field.
Also, if you are a final year student, then also you can apply.

Age Limit:

Candidate must have achieved minimum 21 years of age as on 1st August of the year of exam.


But as you are only 20 years, so you are 1 year short of the requirement, hence you cannot apply this and as it is the last of application have gone past.

So I suggest that you complete your graduation and then you can apply next year, as you will be totally eligible the next year for the exam.

The main basic eligibility criteria for Civils Service Examination

->Candidate must have 21 years of age

this is all about the basic eligibility criteria of CSE

So by this one thing is clear that not only having graduation

you should have the age too..

If you are 20 year old now, then sorry you are not eligible to apply for UPSC IAS Examination, Because to appear in this exam, your age should between 21
to 30 years, only then you are eligible to apply for UPSC Civil services examination.
