Exams to appear to become a customs officer?
i am intresed in becoming a custom officer. i am in t.y.b.com . please tell what exams i am supposed to appear

To become a Customs Officer you will have to take the Civil Services Examination Customs Department is one of the two main tax collecting departments of the
government whose function is divided into two broad areas: The control of imported and exported goods for the purpose of duty, statistics and checks for entry of prohibited and restricted goods, especially smuggled drugs Customs officers work mainly in airports and docks, both in uniform and plain clothes to ensure that the due import and export licensing procedures are complied with. They also conduct preventive checks i.e. physical examination of ships, aircraft, vehicles, freight and cargo to detect concealment of goods and duty evasion. eligibility : Bachelor’s degree in any stream is the basic qualification. You can also take your State Public Service Commission’s Allied Services Exam for state-level jobs in Customs and Excise. To prepare for the UPSC exams you need to in touch with all the current affairs and should have good General Awareness. there are many more opportunity : Constables Preventive Officers / Inspectors Clerical Cadres foundation training course of 4 months duration for probationers of all civil services. The foundation course is followed up by specific job-oriented training, conducted separately by each service in different parts of the country. This training is partly institutional and partly hands-on. For most cadres, the training is of 12 months' duration |
