yes you are perfectly eligible for NDA exam
the minimum height required for NDA is 157.5 cms i.e. 5.1 feet as you crossed your 5-1 you are eligible for NDA and the remaining physical standards that need to be filled by you are the following you should be physically fit you should be proven fit in the medical examination done by a set of officers of NDA this makes you proven that you are eligible for The NDA this is all about the physical requirements that need to be fulfilled to get into NDA best wishes ~aditya~ |

Yes your height is no problem for NDA.Its more then what required .
The minimum acceptable height is 157.5 cms. (162.5 cms for Air Force) NDA ELIGIBILITY : Army :: Must have passed 10+2 pattern of School Education with any stream Air Force and Naval Must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University. Age limit: Must have attained the age of 16 1/2 years and should not more then 19 years |

To be physically eligible for NDA examination the candidate must have minimum 157 cm of height. There is no relaxation given to OBC/SC/ST candidates in any of the case.
However there is certain relaxation given to North-East Indian candidates in height. |

NDA exam is conducted twice in a year. To apply for this exam a candidate
should be 10+2 pass in any discipline. This exam is conducted by the UPSC and the age of the candidate should be between 16.5 to 19 years. Yes you are eligible for writing the NDA exam as the minimum height they demand for is more than 157 cm. that is 5'1". As you are 5'4" so you are eligible for NDA. Good luck!!! |

Guidelines For Physical Standards for Admission to the National Defence Academy
Note : Candidates must be Physically AND MENTALLY fit According to the pre-scribed Physical standards. The guidelines for the same are given below. A Number of qualified candidates are rejected subsequently on Medical grounds. Candidates are therefore advised in their own interest to get themselves medically examined before submitting their applications to avoid disappointment at the final stage. Candidates are also advised to rectify minor defects/ailments in order to speed up finalisation of medical examination conducted at the Military Hospital after being recommended at the SSB. Few of such commonly found defects/ailments are listed below : (a) Wax (Ears) (b) Deviated Nasal Septum (c) Hydrocele/Phimosis (d) Overweight/Underweight (e) Under sized Chest (f) Piles (g) Gynaecomastia (h) Tonsillitis (i) Varicocele Civilian candidates appearing for all types of commission in the Armed Forces will be entitled to out-patients treatment from service sources at public expense for injuries sustained or diseases contracted during the course of their examination by the Selection Board. They will also be entitled to in-patient treatment at public expense in the Officers’s ward of a hospital provided– (a) the injury is sustained during the tests or, (b) the disease is contracted during the course of the examination by selection board and there is no suitable accommodation in local civil hospital or it is impracticable to remove the patient to the civil hospital; or, (c) the medical board requires the candidates’s admission for observation. Note : They are not entitled to special nursing. A candidate recommended by the Services Selection Board will undergo a medical examination by a Board of Service Medical Officers. Only those candidates will be admitted to the academy who are declared fit by the Medical Board. The proceedings of the Medical Board are confidential and will not be divulged to anyone. However the candidates declared unfit will be intimated by the President of the Medical Board and the procedure for request for an Appeal Medical Board will also be intimated to the candidate. Candidates declared unfit during Appeal Medical Board will be intimated about the provision of Review Medical Board. (a) The candidate must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease/disability which is likely in interfere with the efficient performance of military duties. (b) There should be no evidence of weak constitution, bodily defects or under weight. The candidate should not be overweight or obese. (c) The minimum acceptable height is 157.5 cms. (162.5 cms for Air Force) For Gorkhas and individuals belonging to hills of North Eastern regions of India, Garhwal and Kumaon, the minimum acceptable heights will be 5 cms. less. In case of candidates from Lakshadweep the minumum acceptable height can be reduced by 2 cms. The measurement will be taken with a tape so adjusted that its lower edge should touch the nipple in front and the upper part of the tape should touch the lower angle of the shoulder blades behind. X-Ray of the chest is compulsory and will be taken to rule out any disease of the chest. (e) There should be no mal-development or impairment of function of the bones or joint. Minimum Acceptable height is 157.5 cms (162.5 cms for Air force). Physical fitness is very important for NDA Exam. The Age should between 16 1/2 - 19 yrs. |

Yes, you are eligible to apply for NDA 1 as the minimum required height to apply is 157.5 cms.
For joining airforce it is 162.5 cms. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Your age should be between 16.5 - 19 yrs. You should be born between 2nd Jan & 1st Jul for NDA 1 and 2nd Jul & 1st Jan for NDA 2 You should have passed 12th Class (10+2) system of education or its equivalent for Army and with Physics and Maths for the airforce and navy. YOU should be an unmarried male. |

For appear in this examination, you must have a 12th degree from a recognized board with PHYSICS & MATHS as your passing subjects with at least 60%. In every year UPSC arrange the NDA examination through which you can join the Indian Airforce.So there must be some criteria for that examination.Here I'm giving you the information regarding NDA to join Indian Airforce.

The minimum acceptable height is 157.5cm(162.5cm for AIR FORCE).For Gorkhas and individuals belonging to the Hills of North Eastern regions of India,Garhwal an Kumaon,the minimum acceptable height will be 5cm less. In case of candidates from Lakshwadeep,the minimum acceptable height will be reduced by 2cm.
