Dear Aspirant

Nice to see your interest for defence service. But it is to inform you that you can not apply for Indian Navy while in class 11th.

-To apply for Indian Navy, You have to appear or pass 12th standard.

-You can join Indian Navy by giving NDA(National Defence Academy) Entrance exam conducted by UPSC-Union Public Service Commission twice in a year generally as NDA I & NDA II.

-& NDA is only for unmarried male candidates. Girls are not allowed.


You should fulfill following criteria to join Indian Navy through NDA:

~You should have passed 12th standard with PCM subjects from recognized central/state board/school.

~While in 12th standard you can also apply for NDA.

~No restriction on percentage of marks that you have scored in 12th.

~Your Age must be in between 161/2 to 19 years.

~You must have Indian citizenship.


Procedure to apply for NDA Exam:

~You can apply for NDA Exam only through Online mode.

~You can apply online by Using UPSC official website: http://www.upsconline.nic.in

~If you feel any dificulty regarding this you can visit UPSC Official website: http://upsc.gov.in



Schedule for NDA Exam 2012:

NDA I

-Notification Announced : 31/12/2011

-Last date to apply : 30/01/2012

-Examination date : 15/04/2012.

NDA II

-Date of Notification : 05/05/2012

-Last Date of Submission of Application form : 04/06/2012

-Commencement of Examination : 19/08/2012

Sorry to say you are not eligible to apply for Indian Navy through NDA Exam after your 11th class because the minimum qualification is 12th class.


NDA stands for National Defense Academy.NDA Examination are conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) twice in a year.

NDA Examination is conducted in 3 wings:

• Indian Army
• Indian Navy
• Indian Air Force

Note: Only unmarried male candidates are eligible..

You are in 11th class now, and you want to join in NAVY wing, then my friend you have to complete your 12th first..

After completion of 12th class in science field you will be able to appear in NDA exam..
Through NDA exam you will be able to apply for different sections in Indian Defense...
NDA exam is conducted twice in every year by UPSC..

*Candidate must have complete the 12th class in science field having subjects like - Physics, chemistry and maths..
*Candidate , who is appearing in 12th class board exam can also apply for the exam..
*Candidates age should be in between 16.5-19 years..

These are the eligibility criteria you have to fulfill..
As you are in 11th class now, then try to complete the 12th class with a good percentage of marks..
After which you will be able to apply for NDA exam..

Sir, i'v completed 10 2 in yr. 2009 and i want 2 join Indian navy.

You are just in class 11th and now you want to go for Indian Navy,my friend i feel happy that you are very much happy to see your interest but my friend in class 11th you are not eligible to apply for Indian Navy.

12th class is compulsory for Indian Navy so my friend first complete your 12th then only after you will be eligible for it.Because if you want to go for Indian Navy then you have to go through first for NDA.

After cracking the NDA entrance exam ,you will be eligible to go for Indian Navy.NDA stands for National Defense Academy and it is the entrance exam which is conducted by UPSC and it is held at twice in the year.

NDA is the entrance exam to join any of the defense or civil service.There are three types of civil services that are comes under NDA:

1.Indian Navy
2.Indian Military
3.Indian Air Force



You can go for any one by my friend complete your 12th first only then after it is possible to for these civil services.
