i have recently passed class 12th and pursuing b.com and i want to apply for cds examination.

Being 12th standard your not eligible for CDS Examination . To apply for CDS Examination you need to Complete Bachelor degree then Only your eligible for CDS Examination .

At present you have Pursuing for B.com Course , After Completing your B.com Course your Only eligible for Indian Army / Officer Training academy .

Note :- Commerce / Arts stream candidates are not eligible for Airforce (or) Navy academy .

The candidate who Completing Bachelor degree in Engineering stream candidates are only eligible for Airforce and Navy academy .

So, After Completing B.com Course your not eligible for Airforce / Navy academy .

There is no Minimum Percentage of marks require for this CDS Examination . Final year candidate may also eligible to apply for this Examination .

Only Unmarried candidate Eligible to apply for Army/ Navy/ and Airforce academy , But both the Male and Female candidates are eligible to apply for Officer training academy .

You should be Citizen of India and You should be Physically as well as Medically Fit for the Examination .

Age Criteria to apply for CDS Examination :-

CDS EXAM STANDS FOR COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE BY UPSC TWICE IN A YEAR.

CDS Exam Eligibility 2012
==>Nationality:-
A candidate must either be :- i. A Citizen of India, or
ii. A subject of Bhutan, or
iii. A subject of Nepal, or
iv. A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India
Age limit:-
Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1988 and not later than 1st January, 1994 are eligible.
Educational Qualifications:-
1. For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy : Degree of a recognised University or equivalent.
2. For Indian Naval Academy : Degree in Engineering for CDSE and Degree in Engineering or B.Sc. ( with Physics or Mathematics ) for NCC entry.
3. For Air Force Academy : Degree of recognized University ( with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level ) or Bachelor of Engineering.

The eligibility criteria for CDS exam ........

The "Combined Defence Services" Examination is conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment into the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Naval Academy and Air Force Academy. The Notification for the examination is usually released in the months of October and June, and the examinations are conducted in February and September respectively. Only unmarried graduates are eligible to sit for the exam .

Eligibility Criteria:-

*For Indian Military Academy/Officers' Training Academy: Degree from a recognized university or equivalent

*For Naval Academy: B.Sc. with Physics & Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering

*For Air Force Academy: Degree of a recognized University with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelor of Engineering

Age Limit:-

Indian Military Academy 19-24 years

Air Force Academy 19-23 years

Naval Academy 19-22 years

Officers’ Training Academy 19-25 years

Hi dear..

After doing +2 , you cannot give CDSE (Common Defense Services Examination) as it is meant for only those candidates who have completed their Graduation.

CDSE is conducted by UPSC twice every year.
As a candidate who is persuing B.Com , you can go only in Army. (As Commerce/Arts students not allowed in Indian Air Force and Navy)

~> You should be Physically and Mentally fit for the examination.

--> You should be a citizen of India.

--> Your age should be between 19 to 25 years.

You can not apply for CDS having completed 12th and pursing for B.Com.

You are eligible to apply for CDS after Graduation Degree. UPSC conducts CDS(Combined Defence Service) exam two times to join Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officer's Training Academy of CDS.

Being a student of B.Com. after completion of which you are only eligible to apply for Indian Military Academy or Officer's Training Academy of CDS.

Apart from the academic qualification of being a Graduate from a recognised University, you must be an unmarried Indian National within the age of 19 to 24 years for IMA and 19 to 25 years for OTA with good Physical and Mental health.

The selection is through written exam followed by personal interview along with Physical Fitness and Medical Test.
