You can apply both online and offline.
For offline application, you have to collect the form from the designated post offices. For online application, you have to visit the official website. You will also get other details there...like exam date, other criteria etc.... official website-- http://www.upsc.gov.in But before applying, look at the eligibility criteria.... Educational qualification: You should have completed your graduation in any discipline from any recognized university. Final year candidates can also apply. Age limit: Should have crossed 21 years. But should not have crossed 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs . Physical Standard: Height – Male 165 cm Eye sight – 6/6 or 6/9 Blood pressure (High) – Age 23 – 123, age 24 – 124, age 25 –122, age 28 – 124, age 30 –125, age 32 – 126, age 34 – 127. Others: Good listening & normal ear cavity. Candidate should not stammer while speaking. So if you fulfill the criteria, then apply for IPS. |

Indian Police Service(IPS)
UPSC conduct Civil Services exam for IPS. Oualification:-The basic eligibility to appear in the IPS exam is to have a graduation degree from any discipline. The candidates who are in the final year can also appear in the IPS exam. Age limit:- The age of the candidate must be above 21 years of age while appearing the preliminary exam. The age of the candidate must not be more than 30 years (Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs). Physical Eligibility :- Minimum height of 165 cm for Men and 150 cm for Women. minimum height is relaxable to 160 and 145 cm for SC/ST. The attempts for several categories are: For Open -4 For OBC -7 For SC/ST - No limit. Procedure to apply:-The Application Form and Information Brochure can be obtained from the Head Post Offices or Post Offices throughout the country. The filled Application Form should be sent to: Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, New Delhi - 110011. |

IPS Preparation Tips
Succeeding the IPS examination is regarded as prestigious and it is the dream of many students to become an IPS Officer. But, the general impression regarding civil service examinations like IPS is that it is really hard to get through the examination. The IPS examination is conducted in three stages, the preliminary examination, the main examination and the interview. The preliminary examination is divided into two papers they are general studies and optional subject. You can apply for civil service exam which is conducted by UPSC every year for various
post like IPS.IAS and more. Eligibility :: Bachelor’s degree of a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physcs, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Enginerring or an equivalent qualification. Your age should be between 21 to 30 years .There is relaxation given to reserved caste students in upper age limits and no of attempts: No. of permissible attempts : Four (Seven attemps of OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs) |
