Re: How to become an IAS officer having completed 10th standard?
For IAS, one has to go through a civil services examination conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission).
The selection procedure will be by -CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) -Civil Services Main examination -Interview In order to appear for IAS, one should have completed his graduation from a recognized university. One should be in the age group of 21-30 years. Relaxation is there in upper age limit for the candidates of other categories. As you have just completed 10th standard, my suggestion will be join 10+2 and try to get percentage of marks at 10+2 and gain subject knowledge. Later on you can join Graduation in any of the branch you wanted and start preparation for the IAS right from the first year of Graduation. By the time you complete your graduation be strong enough in General awareness and aptitude which will be a part of CSAT |

Re: How to become an IAS officer having completed 10th standard?
For joining IAS you should have to complete your graduation, but you can start preparing now onwards .
You can check the syllabus and choose the portions you can prepare with your 11th class and when you will complete your gradation you will be having your notes from 11th class upto graduation which will be very helpful for you. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: To apply for IAS your age should be 21-30 years for general category. For OBC it should be 33 years maximum. For ST/SC it should be 35 years maximum. You should be a graduate in any disciple. For preparing for IAS you should have a very strong general knowledge, you should have a good knowledge of the current affairs. As the syllabus is very broad you have to make a time table to cover all the portions. The entrance examination is divided into three main stages Preliminary exam. Main exam. Interview. You can take any course as your graduation course. Your age should be between 21 years and 30 years. [33 years for Sc/ST] final year graduate students are also eligible for IAS. But if selected, then final years students have to show their certificate of passing at the time of interview. you need to have very strong knowledge in current affairs and social issues. official website-- http://www.upsc.gov.in |

this is because for giving ias exam, the student must have done graduation in any field with at least 60% marks. the age limit for the exam is 21 to 30 years which can increase to 35 years for sc/st students. if you are having these qualifications, then only you can give the exam. there will be three rounds in the exam. firstly, you will have to give the preliminary exam. this exam will be of objective questions. after qualifying in that exam, you will have to give the main exam, which will be in written form. after passing both the exams, you will be called for the personal interview. after passing that interview, you will become an ias officer. the notification regarding the exam comes in the employment news. for more details regarding the exam, you can visit www.upsc.gov.in |

Re: How to become an IAS officer having completed 10th standard?
If you want to be an IAS officer in future, so please do not worry because to become IAS Officer the UPSC Civil services examination will be required to be qualified by you. After completion of 10th and 12th examination you will not be eligible for this UPSC examination because graduate candidates are eligible to apply for UPSC Civil services examination, Stream does not matter because Science, Arts and Commerce all these stream candidates are eligible to apply for Civil services examination. So Its up to you what you have opt after completing your 10th examination and If you are from commerce stream then its not a issue. So Please Go with graduate degree course and then apply for the Civil Services examination. The age limit for the application to Indian administrative service is 30 years which is maximum.
The mode of selection is based on tests which will cover different areas of studies which the candidate can opt for. The candidates who get short listed in the written test will only go in for next stages of selection only like interview. The IAS is one of the most competitive examinations which is held through out the country. Hence there will be stiff competition. |

Age criteria- For general the age criteria is 21-30years.. For SC/ST the age relaxation is 5years.. For OBC the age relaxation is 3years... As you are from ST, so, you will get facility, like you will get extra 5years to appear in IAS exam, and also there is some quota for ST category students in IAS.. The exam consist of three stages like- 1. Preliminary exam If you clear the exam they you will get a call for Main Exam.. 2.Main Exam If you also clear the main exam then they will call you for the interview session.. 3.Interview After cracking the interview, you will be selected as a IAS officer.. so, work hard... this is a exam where you have to determine and work hard to crack such a exam...
