Appreciation for your decision to become a Civil Servant as any IAS or IPS officer.
As you are a small kid you need to know lot about these services . What are the jobs done by the officers who under take these jobs.

First of all. IAS is abbreviated as Indian Administrative Service.
IPS as Indian Police service. Both are different in their characteristics but only motto behind these services is to serve the mankind.

To become IAS officer a candidate has to be an Indian
He has to complete his 10th
He has to complete his Intermediate or Diploma no compulsion to complete in a particular stream.
He has to complete Degree,Normal or Professional of the stream which he likes no compulsion to be from a particular stream.

Marks/Percentages through out the education are not a barrier to attempt the examination. Just a Degree is sufficient to write this examination.

One more important thing is only the candidates who completed 21 years of age are only eligible to write this examination.

After obtaining the eligibility criteria you have to appear for IAS entrance examination which is conducted in three level pattern

you have to clear all the three levels and obtain a good rank at the end of the procedure.

After obtaining a good rank you will be given a cadre according to that and also the service allotted to you will be displayed and intimated.

This is the procedure of obtaining job in Civil Services of India.

All the best

dear friend,
As you are in 10th standard now, so it is too early for you to think about the civil service exams..
The civil service exams are conducted by UPSC every year..
To appear in these civil service exams , you have to fulfill some criteria..

Eligibility for civil service exams:-

*The candidate must have complete the graduation in any trade from a recognized university at least.
*The candidate should not have any due backlogs during graduation..
*The candidates age should be in between 21- 30 years..
For SC/ST the age relaxation is 5 years and for OBC the age relaxation is 3 years..

So, you first go for your 12th, then after completion of your 12th go for graduation ..
After that think about civil service exams..
All the best..
