Re: How to become an IAS officer? How to prepare for it?
T become an IAS officer, one has to crack Civil Service Examination conducted every year by UPSC after Graduation Degree.
Eligibility for IAS, Civil Service Exam:- -The candidate must be an Indian National. -Should have either appeared for the final Graduation Degree exam or passed in any stream from a recognised university. -Should be within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for OBC candidate up to 3 years and for SC/ST candidate up to 5 years. The Civil Service can be applied through both off line and on line mode. Through off line mode the application form can be obtained from all General Post offices all over India. Through on line mode, the application can be downloaded from the official web site of UPSC i.e. http://www.upsconline.com The selection is through two stages of written exam followed by Personal Interview. The eligible candidate applying for Civil Service Exam is called for a preliminary exam also called as CSAT(Civil Service Aptitude Test). The candidate selected out of the CSAT exam is called for to sit for the Civil Service Main Exam. The final selection is conducted through Personal Interview out of candidate selected from main exam. At least one year rigorous preparation is must before sitting for Civil Service Exam which is the toughest and most competitive exam. For more information you may log on to http://www.upsc.gov.in |
