To become a software engineer you should choose the science faculty for std 11th and 12th . Along with 12th you also will have to appear for the various entrance exams meant for engineering . You Have get through the the entrance exam with flying colours then and then only you will be able to get admission in the stream of your choice .

You must study science as the main subject in 11th and 12th. HSC studies must be completed with physics, chemistry, and mathematics as subjects. After that, you must get an admission to B.Tech/B.E in IT/CSE/Software Engineering. Admission to this course is made through entrance tests like IIT JEE. State level entrance exams like MHT CET and WB JEE is conducted for the purpose.

To be a software engineer , you have to take :-
Science stream with PCM, that is,
Physics , Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects.
You can opt Biology or Computer Science as the forth subject.
Choosing Computer Science is the best option.
English is a compulsory subject.
Make sure that you score 55% aggregate in PCM and 50% alone in Mathematics in your 10+2 boards, to be eligible for the same.
