Respected Sir/Madam, I am a student of 12th standard, studying with Science stream. I am a female candidate and I want to become a Fashion Designer. Kindly let me know that how I can become a Fashion Designer?

To become a Fashion Designer, you will have to pursue course Bachelor of Fashion Designing.

To apply for this course, firstly you must have at least 50% marks in 10+2 (Science stream). Then, you can apply for Bachelor of Designing course.

In first stage, you will have to clear entrance exam containing questions related to 10+2 Science stream.
Then, in second stage, you will have to face Personal Interview.

If you are pursuing this course from NIFT i.e. National Institute of Fashion Technology then you will have much opportunities after course completion.

To get admission into NIFT, you will have to qualify NIFT entrance exam.

To become fashion Designer, you can apply for National Institute of Fashion Technology entrance examination.

Eligibility criteria:

Candidates who have done 12th from a recognized board in any stream can apply for NIFT exam for Bachelor of Design Course.

You must be minimum of 17 years to apply for exam.

For Bachelor of Fashion Technology course, you must have studied PCM subjects in 12th and scored minimum of 50% marks.

Yes,you can pursue your career in fashion designing after completing 12th.

The minimum qualification required is 10+2 with 50% marks.

For fashion designing,you have to go through following entrance exams-

>Common entrance test for design or

>National entrance exam for design or

>National Institute for Fashion Technology exam.

-Your age be between 17 to 23 years.

There are many courses in fashion designing -

Textile Management
Fashion Technology
Fashion Communication
Fashion Illustration and Designing
Dress Designing and Tailoring
Clothing Technology etc.

You can pursue your career in any stream based on your interest.
