IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services .IAS exam is conducted by UPSC every year .This Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission. Educational Qualification :- Graduation Degree in any stream from a recognized university , the final year students also eligible for applying preliminary examination .There is not required any specific marks criteria for IAS exam . Age criteria :- Your age should be in between 21 years to 30 years for general candidates .Age relaxation is given below - 5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates 3 years relaxation for OBC Candidates 10 years relaxation for PHC candidates 5 years relaxation for Ex-serviceman Attempt Limit:- General Candidate can maximum 4 Times OBC Candidate can Maximum 7 Times SC/ST there is no attempt Limit You cam choose One optional subject from below given list because this two papers are mainly conduct for written exam.There is a compulsory subject from civil service exam - You can choose the mains subject from given below.Because if you are qualify in preliminary exam then you should have a chance to attend in mains exam . Those having degree in any stream can apply for IAS. Selection of candidates is made through the written test and interview conducted by UPSC. In order to attend the test, age of the applicant must be between 21 and 30 years. OBC candidates can apply for the test up to 33 years. 35 years is the upper limit for SC/ST candidates.
