No, there is no standard being set to obtain in the qualifying examination, to be considered eligible for IAS entrance test, usually known as Civil Service Examination. The Civil Service examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission [UPSC] and to be eligible to appear for the same, apart from being graduate in any discipline, candidate must be within the age limit of twenty one to thirty years. However, for candidates belonging to reserve category, maximum age limit is relaxed as follows:
  • OBC: 3 years
  • SC/ST: 5 years
If you fulfill, all the aforementioned criteria, you can definitely apply for Civil Service Examination which is held once a year and the notification regarding the same is published on the official website of Union Public Service Commission.
