Re: How can I give IAS exam if I am 31 years old?
At the age of 31 years you are not eligible for IAS if you are from General Category candidate.
But if you are from reserved category candidate you are eligible to apply for IAS, Civil Service Examination conducted by UPSC every year. The eligible candidate must be an Indian national having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for OBC candidate up to 33 years and for SC/ST up to 5 years. So if you are from reserved category you can apply for IAS, Civil Servive Exam up to the age of 35 years. For more information you may log on to http://www.upsc.gov.in |

Re: How can I give IAS exam if I am 31 years old?
The only way you can appear is if you belong to reserve category. Otherwise Civil Service Examination which includes Indian Administrative Service does not allow candidate who is more than 30 years old.
Your hope is based on the caste. If you belong to SC/ST/OBC, then there will be no issue in applying for the Indian Administrative Service. The general category candidates can not apply for IAS after 30 years of age. So depending on your category, please come to the conclusion whether you can appear or not. As fas as I know, Bansal are not from reserve category. They belong to general category. This makes you ineligible for the Indian Administrative Service. But still confirm this aspect before taking any decision. Eligibility Criteria 1. Civil Service Exam is open for Indian nationals. 2. Any Indian citizen with graduation degree can apply. 3. There is no percentage criteria. 4. The age limit is set at 21 to 30 years. 5. A maximum of 3 years relaxation if belong to OBC. 6. SC/ST enjoys 5 years relaxation in upper age limit. Exam Pattern 1. Preliminary Exam 2. Main Exam 3. Interview |

Re: How can I give IAS exam if I am 31 years old?
Dear Meera,
The Union Public Service Commission conducts the Civil Services Examination every year through which you can join the Indian Administrative Services or the Indian Police if you crack the exam successfully. In the mean time , its quite difficult for candidates to crack this exam as the exam is considered as one of the toughest examinations which are conducted every year. The Age limit For Civil Services Exam is 21-30 years considering you to belong to General Category. The Upper Age is relaxable for candidates of other categories as : Now , whether you are eligible or ineligible for the exam , depends on your caste , if you belong to any of the Reserved Categories , then there will be no problem in getting eligibility for the exam but if you belong to General Category , then sorry to say but you cannot apply for the Civil services Exam. The Other requisites for the Civil Services Exam are : * Graduation in any stream from any recognized college/university. * No Minimum percentage required for this exam. * Candidates in final year of graduation can also apply. * Candidate must be an Indian. * Number Of Attempts : General Candidates : 4 SC/ST Candidates : No Limit OBC Candidates : 7 This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want. |

Re: How can I give IAS exam if I am 31 years old?
If you belong to any of the reserved category then you will be definitely eligible for IAS examination.
But you haven't mentioned the category to which you belong, so it will be difficult to tell whether you are eligible or not for IAS exam. If your category is General then you have no chance of applying for IAS examination because for General category age limit is 21 to 30 years. There is age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates. So now you can estimate whether you are eligible or not based on your category. If you find yourself eligible then start preparing for the examination. There are 3 stages in the examination which are given below: -Preliminary stage -Mains stage -Interview Those who score highest marks will stand chance of getting selected for the post. Number of Attempts : General Category : 4 attempts OBC Category : 7 attempts SC/ST : No Restriction |
