Hi,
You can join Indian Navy by qualifying in NDA exam held twice in a year.
The required qualifications are:
1. You must have Science in 12th with Maths and Physics and you should obtain 60% marks in there subjects.
2. You must be an Indian National or a subject of Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetian refugee with the intention of permanently setting down in India.
3. Your age should be between 16.5 to 19 years.
4. You must be unmarried male.
5. You must be physically fit and mentally fit.

NDA stand for National Defence Service Exam.This exam is conduct twice time in a year by UPSC . NDA Examination is conducted in 3 wings-Indian Air Force ,Indian Navy and Indian Army

The candidate must have a complete the 12th from a recognized board Or equivalent qualification are applicable for NDA exam.

You have completed 12th standard from commerce department so you are not applicable for Indian Navy Exam but you are applicable for Indian Army post .

Final year of 12th board candidate can also apply here .

The candidate age should between 16.5 years to 19 years.There is no age relaxation for Sc/ST candidate . Only unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply. You must have Citizenship of India.

NDA I date already over for this year so you can try for NDA II Exam .The notification is given below-

NDA II Exam Details :

Date of Notification : 04.05.2013
Last date for receipt of application : 03.06.2013
Date of commencement of Exam : 11.08.2013

The selection procedure for NDA exam are Written Examination ,Medical Test ,Physical Test , Personnel Interview

I am sorry to say that after passing 12th with commerce stream you are not eligible for Indian Navy.

For Indian Navy you have to pass 12th with Physics, chemistry and Maths.

If you want you can apply for Indian Army.

For this you have to qualify the N.D.A exam.

NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY

N.D.A exam is conducted by U.P.S.C twice in a year in month of August and April.
Eligibility criteria:-
> Pass 12th with recognized university
> Age limit:-16.5-19 year.
> Must be citizen of India
> Medically fit

There are three steep of selection:-
> Written Exam
> Interview
> Medical exam

Dear Vipul,

Sorry to say but you cannot join Indian Navy if you have passed 12th from commerce stream with 60% marks.

To join Indian Navy on the basis of 12th standard , you have to clear the NDA Examination.

And In NDA Examination , if you are willing to Join Indian Navy , then the educational qualification that you should have is 12th with PCM from any recognized board.

So , unluckily , instead of having 60% marks in 12th , you are not eligible to join Indian Navy through NDA Examination as well as CDS Examination.

You are not eligible to join Indian Navy through NDA after passing 12th from Commerce stream as only candidate from Science stream is eligible for this.

NDA - National Defence Academy, the entrance exam for which is conducted by UPSC twice every year for an entry in to Indian Army, Navy and Air Force wing of NDA.

The eligible candidate aspiring for Indian Navy of NDA, must be an Indian unmarried Male having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognised Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years with good Physical and Mental health.

As a candidate from Commerce stream can apply for Indian Army of NDA.

For Indian navy, the candidate should have maths and physics in class 12th.


To join Indian Navy, one has to apply for NDA exam.

Eligibility for NDA - ( For Navy and Air Force)-

10+2 with Physics and maths from a recognised board.

Age should be between 16.5 years to 19 years.

Only unmarried male candidates can apply.

So, since you don't fulfill the first criteria , you cannot apply fo rthe same.

however, you can give NDA exam for indian army.

Indian Navy can be joined after 12th from Science stream through NDA(National Defence Academy) entrance exam conducted by UPSC twice every years.

The eligible candidate wishing to join Indian navy of NDA, must be an Indian unmarried Male having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subject of studies from a recognised Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years with good Physical and Mental physique.

So being a candidate of Commerce stream you are not eligibel to apply for Indian Navy of NDA but you are eligible to apply for Indian Army.

You said you have cleared your 12th with commerce subject that means you are not at all eligible for Indian Navy as if you want to go in Indian Navy then you must have Physics and Mathematics as regular subject.

If you want to go in Army then you can join NDA :-

4. Only Indian citizen are eligible
5. Only unmarried candidate are eligible

You can give this exam and go for Indian Army.

If you now go for Indian Navy then you must go for Engineering and after that once you complete your B.tech you can give Exam like CDS, OTA, IMA toi get into Indian Navy and this is the last option for you.

Join Navy After 12th

The best way to join the Indian Armed Forces after 12th is by clearing the NDA Exam..

The NDA Exam is always held in April and August by the UPSC for admission to armed forces..

There are the following minimum conditions which you need to satisfy in order to appear for NDA :-

>> only unmarried male candidates are eligible to appear for the NDA Exam..

>> to apply for Indian Navy..you must have Maths and Physics as your compulsory subjects in 12th boards..

>> you must be more than 16 1/2 years and less than 19 years when you appear for the NDA Exam

I am really very sorry to inform you but since you had a commerce background hence you cannot apply for the Indian Navy..

However..if you want..you can apply for the Indian Army..

After passing class 12th, to apply for jobs in Indian Navy , you ahve to give the NDA exams.

NDA exams are conducted by UPSC to fill seats in the:
>> Indian Navy
>> Indian Airforce
>> Army
>> Naval Academy

Eligibilty to apply;

Educational Qualifications:
Army Wing-12th Pass in any stream
Navy & Airforce Wing- 12th Pass with Subject Physics and Maths as subjects.

AGE-
Minimum age 16.5 years
Maximum age- 19 years

Since you have not studied Science subjects physics and Mathematics in class 12th, so you cannot apply for the Indian Navy

However you can apply for the Indian army
