For National Eligibility Test (NET) Conducted by university Grant Commission (UGC), candidate must hold a masters degree in any discipline awarded by a recognized university.
Apart from that, the minimum percentage of marks with which the candidate must have qualified the masters degree examination is 55% for candidates belonging to general and OBC category and 50% for candidates belonging to SC/ST category.
Qualifying the National Eligibility Test enables the candidate to be considered eligible for the post of Lecturer in universities/Colleges anywhere in India.
