Hello Harsha, I guess you are asking about Optional Subjects.
Harsha, As you know the civil service examination pattern has been changed previously we need to select the optional subjects at the begining only because at that time we have to prepare for Prelims itself out optional now that is not the case you should select the optional subjects only for Mains. The Prelims(which is now CSAT) will have common syllabus. I mean the syllabus is same for all the students or aspirants of the Civil service examination. You need to clear this examination which is of common syllabus for all the candidates who are from various streams. the optional selection is the case in the level 2 of the examination that is the optional subjects are to be selected in the mains level of the examination. we have to select the two optional subjects from this list. Mathematics Agriculture Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science Botany Chemistry Civil Engineering Commerce Economics Electrical Engineering Geography Geology Indian History Law Mathematics Management Mechanical Engineering Medical Science Philosophy Physics Political Science Psychology Public Administration Optional subjects should be selected according to your interest not based upon its credibility or anything else. All that matters in the time of preparation is your interest if not done in this way you have to get prepared for the next examination or next attempt So make a good decision while selecting the optional subjects Regards ![]() ~AdityA~ |
