If you are talking about Civil Services Examination then you can first complete your Graduation to become eligible for it.
Age should be between 21 to 30 years if you are a General Category candidate and there is 5 years of age relaxation for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC Category. Exam Pattern: -Preliminary Examination(Objective Type Paper) Paper I - (200 marks) Duration: Two hours(General Studies) Paper II- (200 marks) Duration: Two hours(Aptitude Test) -Mains Examination(Descriptive Type): Paper-I and II: There will be two qualifying papers in any Indian language and English each of 300 marks. Paper-III : Essay 250 Marks Paper-IV General Studies-I (Indian Heritage and Culture, History and Geography of the World and Society) of 250 marks Paper-V General Studies -II (Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International relations) of 250 marks Paper-VI General Studies -III (Technology, Economic Development, Bio-diversity, Environment, Security and Disaster Management) of 250 marks Paper-VII General Studies -IV (Ethics, Integrity and Aptitude) of 250 marks PAPER-VIII & PAPER IX :Optional Subject Papers I & II Those who pass preliminary will be allowed to appear for Mains Examination. You can prepare whichever way you feel comfortable. If you are good at self studies then you can but if you are not good at it then you can join a good coaching class.
