GATE stands for the Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering. The examination is conducted by the IIT for the candidates who want to pursue the M.tech course from the IIT, NIT, and other government colleges.

The eligibility to appear in the examination is candidate must be pursuing in the final year of B.tech in any discipline from a recognised university. There is no specific requirement of aggregate in the graduation. There is also no limitation on the number of attempt to appear in the examination.

The examination is conducted online based and the GATE score are valid for three consecutive years.

The questions in the examination are from the Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness and the topic from the stream in which you are pursuing the B.tech courses. There is also negative marking on the each wrong answer. There is different cut off for the different stream candidates.

Si you have to go through what you have studied in the previous year. For more visit the www.gateexam.in. The examination are conducted in the month of February.

Yes, it is possible to crack the Graduate Aptitude test in Engineering without joining any coaching institute. But it requires hard labour along with determination and dedication towards study to crack this exam.

GATE is an objective test of 100 marks consisting of 65 questions from your core stream of engineering and aptitude. There is negative marking also for every wrong answer.

Tips for cracking GATE with self preparation:

>>First of all go through the syllabus of electrical stream for the GATE exam. List down the core subjects. Make a proper routine and devote time for each subject.

>>Read the best reference books for all subjects. For example some of the best reference books for you are:

1. Electrical machinery by Nagrath and Kothari.

2. Linear control system by B.S Manke.

3. Digital electronics by Morris Mano

4. Microprocessor by Ramesh Goankar

5. Analog electronics by Gayakwad.

>>Go though each and every topics of core subjects of engineering, do not leave any subject for preparation. Make crystal clear concept of the subjects.

Questions asked are mainly conceptual, so you need to practice a lot on different subjects.

Numerical problems need to be solved again and again. Do revision at proper intervals.

>>When you do all the preparation, join the test series of any institute for assessing yourself like MADE EASY or GATEFORUM.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
