How should I become an IPS Officer? How should I prepare for this?


i very much to become an ips officer.please say how should i prepare for the exams

How should I become an IPS Officer ?

If your aspiring to apply for IPS Examination then you have to appear in UPSC ( Union Public Service Commission ) Examination . This Examination is divided into three stages namely , Preliminary Examination / Main Examination / Interview and Physical Test .

To apply for IPS Examination you have to satisfy the eligibility Criteria ,

Eligibility Criteria :-
----------------------------

~~ The applicant should complete Bachelor degree in any discipline from recognized university . Final year candidate (or) The candidate who waiting for the result of Bachelor degree may also eligible to apply for this Examination .

Note :- There is no percentage bar of this Examination .

~~ Your age should not less then 21 years and not more then 30 years and upper age limit will applicable for sc/st as well as obc candidates .

~~ The Applicant should be Physically fit ( ie :- Eyesight , Weight , and Height )

Number of Attempts :-
--------------------------

~~ For General Candidates :- 4 times
~~ For OBC Candidates :- 7 times
~~ For SC/ST Candidates :- No Limit


Application Procedure :-
------------------------------

The applicant you may apply for this Examination in online mode , you may download the Examination application form from the official website of UPSC . The Cost of Application form Rs.50 . You may pay the application fees in following modes like, Credit (or) Debit Card , Internet Banking ,and Direct SBI Bank etc......

You have not mentioned your current qualification. If you are graduate then you are eligible for the IPS. As a first step you need to appear for the CSAT an aptitude oriented test. If you clear the same you will be eligible for the Mains. In this exam you should prepare for any two subjects mentioned in the list provided in UPSC site. You can probably select the subjects based on your area of specialisation during graduation.

IPS - INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE, to become an IPS officer one has to appear and crack Civil Service Examination conducted by UPSC once every year.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for SC/ST candidate up to 5 years and for OBC up to 3 years.

There is certain prescribed Physical standard to be maintained for those applying for IPS.

HEIGHT:-

General Male-165cm and Female-150cm

SC/ST Male-160cm and Female-145cm

CHEST:-

Male-85cm and Female-79cm, Expandable to 5cm for both the cases.

The selection is through three phases:-

CSAT-CIVIL SERVICE APTITUDE TEST-PRELIMINARY EXAM comprises of all objective type questions.

CIVIL SERVICE MAIN EXAM comprises of subjective type questions from the prescribed syllabus.

PERSONAL INTERVIEW

As the Civil Service exam is very tough and competitive, one should rigorously prepare for the same as per syllabus at least one year before sitting for the exam.
