Is it better to join merchant navy after XII or is it better after b-tech
if after b-tech then what stream should i select in b-tech?
I am confused please help me! plz

You can join Merchant navy both after passing Class-12 or after B-tech.
If you are planning to join after class-12, you shall have to appear for the Joint Entrance Examination(JEE). The eligibility criteria is :
• Age Limit- 16 – 25 years.
• You should be medically fit i.e fit (strong physically and mentally) for sea-services under standard norms.
• No color blindness. Eyesight without glasses should be 6/6.
• You should be a citizen of India.

If you are planning to join after B-tech, the requirements are :
• Graduate from a recognized University with min 50% marks in the final year.
• Age limit is 17.5 – 25 years.
• Relaxation 2 yrs for females.
• Relaxation of 5 yrs for SC/ST.
• You should be physically fit as per the medical norms.
• Eyesight without glasses should be 6/6.


However when to join is purely upto you. So, please don’t get confused and take a call.
