CA is the Chartered Accountancy course. The entrance exam for this course is held twice every year by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in June and December every year.

The first stage is Common Proficiency Test. It is an objective exam for which any 10+2 passed candidate from a recognized board can apply. It is held in June and December. The questions are from Mercantile law, Accountancy, Economics, Aptitude.

The test is of 200 marks, to clear the test a candidate must score at least 50% aggregate and 30% marks in each subject. Once you clear the test, you get enrolled for the course. You can apply for the exam even if you have passed the first year of bachelor's degree with 50% because CPT is 10+2 based exam.

Next stage is Integrated Professional Competence course.
