Re: How to start preparation from 2nd year of B.Tech. for IES examination ?
It is really a very good strategy that you want to start your preparation early for the exam.
As you are in second year now you would be completing 4-5 core important papers. You should not bother for all the syllabus now. Start from those topics which you have studied till now and those which you are studying presently. As you proceed to next semester you study the papers well. Also, keep revising the previous semester papers along with present semester papers. If you follow this way to prepare for the exam then you could crack the exam just after completion of your B.Tech. Generally, the notification for the IES exam is published in the last month of every year. Visit the official website of UPSC http://www.upsc.gov.in/ for more details. The syllabus for the Mechanical Engineering stream is attached with this message. Find it into the attachments. |

Since you have long time to prepare ......just try to complete each and every concept in your covered subjects.....For IES, it is necessary to do consistent and continuos preparation ....also try to concentrate more on derivations and also handwriting is very important in IES.....
My best suggestion is to go for IES coaching because you can learn many tips from them |

Re: How to start preparation from 2nd year of B.Tech. for IES examination ?
For IES this is the right time for you to start preparation as you have lot of time. Start with basics and try to strong the same. Once you become good in basics of your core subjects then go for solving question both objective and subjective.
Also go through general studies which very vast. Refer standard books for study. One and half year is very good for you to become master in your core subjects. And you also have decent knowledge of general studies during this period of time. |
