Re: Is Mathematics compulsory for admission in B.Tech Computer Science?
Yes, it is compulsory to have Mathematics as main paper in 12th board examination to get admission in B.Tech Computer science course.
The required eligibility to get admission in the course is that candidate must have completed 12th in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main paper. Entrance examination is conducted by various institutes for admission in the course. You have scored qualifying marks in Mathematics so you are eligible for admission in B.Tech Computer Science. |

Re: Is Mathematics compulsory for admission in B.Tech Computer Science?
In order to pursue BTech in Computer Science, candidate must have completed 12th standard with PCM that is Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognised board with good percentage.
If you want to seek admission in good government reputed college then you have to appear in the entrance exam that is JEE Mains. |

Re: Is Mathematics compulsory for admission in B.Tech Computer Science?
As far as you are concerned about the compulsion of Mathematics for pursuing B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology ) in Computer Science degree course then I would like to let you know that all Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics is compulsory at Class 12th level academics in order to pursue B.Tech degree course in any stream.
Since, you have secured 48% marks in PCM then you are eligible for admission in few private engineering colleges as the minimum marks requirement for pursuing b.tech degree course is 45% marks in PCM. But, at the same time I would like to let you know that, with just 48% marks you are not eligible for pursuing B.tech degree course from top government or private technical colleges as for admission in these you are required to qualify JEE, CET or other engineering entrance examinations and for appearing in these examinations the minimum marks required in PCM is higher than 50%. So, in order to pursue B.tech from top engineering colleges you need to reappear in your board examinations to improve your marks in your Class 12th. |

Re: Is Mathematics compulsory for admission in B.Tech Computer Science?
The eligibility to get admission in B.Tech Computer science course is that candidate must have passed 12th in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main paper.
So, if you do not have the above mentioned qualification, you are not eligible to appear for entrance examination to get admission in B.Tech computer science course. Yes, to get admission in most of the institutes passing marks in a particular subject is sufficient. |

Re: Is Mathematics compulsory for admission in B.Tech Computer Science?
First thing I would like to let you know that the minimum education required for pursuing B.Tech ( Bachelor of Technology ) in any stream from an engineering college approved by AICTE is a higher secondary school degree with Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics as main subjects with at least 45% marks from a recognized board of education.
So, as far as you are concerned about the possibility to pursue B.Tech in computer science without considering Mathematics marks at Class 12th level then it is not possible. Also, for pursuing B.tech from top government engineering college you need to secure higher percentage of marks in PCM group so in my advise you must reappear in your Class 12th board examination once again to improve your marks at your Class 12th level if you are interested in pursuing B.Tech degree course. |

Re: Is Mathematics compulsory for admission in B.Tech Computer Science?
Since, you have completed your Class 12th with PCM group with 48% marks so you are eligible for getting admission in B.Tech in Computer Science degree course from few private engineering colleges but this option should be a good option as these colleges does not good job placements offer after completion of your B.Tech degree course.
Also, as far as you are concerned about pursuing B.Tech without pursuing Mathematics at Class 12th level academics then it is not possible as the minimum education required for pursuing same degree course is a Class 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects with 45% marks from a board of education. Candidates holding equivalent degree are also eligible. Further, as per my advise if you are interested in pursuing B.Tech degree course then you should reappear in your Class 12th board examination next year with more determination and preparation so that you could manage more marks in your Class 12th. Also, you should look to qualify entrance examinations such as JEE, State EEE/CET, SRM EEE, VITEEE, etc. for getting admission in top engineering colleges in your desired stream. |
