National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to determine eligibility for lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).
Only candidates with Master's Degree in the following are eligible to appear in NET exam. Humanities (including languages) Social Sciences Forensic Science Environmental Science Computer Science Applications, Electronic Sciences etc General and OBC candidates should secure at least 55 per cent marks in Master's Degree SC/ST students should get at least 50 per cent marks (without any grace or rounding off) in Master's degree) to appear in NET Exam. |

NET stands for National Eligibility Test which is conducted by UGC.This exam will be happened twice time in a year. Those candidate have completed masters degree from recognized university are eligible for NET exam. For general and OBC candidate must be scored 55% above in masters degree. For SC/ST candidate scored 50% above in masters degree. There is no age criteria for Lecturer ship Post but in the case of JRF your age maximum age should be 28 years. NEW PATTERN FOR NET EXAM:- From this year NET exam is fully objective based , There is no subjective Paper. So this is really good news for NET competitor. For Paper I- It's has 60 Question.Out of 60 Question , you can answered 50 Question.Total marks of this paper is 100 marks.The time duration for this session is 1¼ Hours (09.30 a.m. to 10.45 a.m.) For Paper II- It has 50 question.All Question are compulsory . M.Sc or equivalent degree under the subjects mentioned above , with
min 55% marks for general & OBC candidates 50% for SC/ST cnadidates physically & vissually handicapped candidates & Ph.D degree holders Age limit : Min of 19 years and max of 28 years 5 years upto age relaxed for OBC/ST/SC candidates |

You need to be post graduate for being eligible for NET Exam. Post graduation with 55% score will let you eligible for taking NET exam. Final year post graduate students can also apply for NET exam.

NET-NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY TEST conducted by UGC(University Grant Commission) for selection of Lectureship and award of JRF(Junior Research Fellowship), the exam of which is held two times a year one in June and other in December.
The eligible candidate must be a Post Graduate Degree holder in any stream from a recognised University with 55% marks. The age of the candidate should be 17 years and there is no upper age bar for those applying for Lectureship and those applying for JRF should be within 28 years can apply for NET. NET-National Eligibility Test ia an examination jointly conducted by UGC-CSIR. Minimum qualification is 55% in your master degree course. All the best. |

NET exam stands national eligiblity test which is conducted by university grant commision. NET EXAM ELIGIBLITY:- Academic Eligibility * A minimum of 55% (50% for SC/ST candidates) marks in a postgraduate degree or equivalent examination in Humanities (including Languages) and Social Sciences, Computer Applications, Electronic Sciences, etc. * Other Eligibility Conditions i) Age Limit (a) For Junior Research Fellowship: The candidate must not be more than 28 years as on June 1 / December 1 for the June / December examination with relaxation up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC categories, physically handicapped and female candidates. Relaxation is also made for candidates who have done research / training at the level of postgraduate study, limited to the period spent on research / training in the subject, subject to a maximum of 5 years and supported by a certificate from the appropriate authority. For those possessing an LLM degree, 3 years age-relaxation is granted. (b) For Lectureship: No upper age limit. ii) Exemption (Eligibility for Lectureship) i) For M.Phil./Ph.D Candidates: NET shall remain the compulsory requirement for appointment as Lecturer even for candidates having Ph.D. Degree. However, candidates who have passed their M.Phil Degree by 31st December 1993 or have submitted their Ph.D. thesis to a university in the concerned subject on or before 31st December 2002 are exempted from appearing in the NET Examination. In case such candidates fail to obtain Ph.D. Degrees, they shall have to pass the NET Examination. The candidates who have passed the UGC/CSIR JRF Examination prior to 1989 are also exempted from appearing in the NET Examination. ii) For SLET Candidates: The candidates who have cleared the State Level Eligibility Test (SLET), accredited by the UGC for Lectureship prior to 1st June 2002, are exempted from appearing in the NET Examination. NET stands for National Eligibility Test and this exam is conducted by the UGC(University Grants Commission) two times in every year. This exam is recruiting people for Junior Reperch Fellowship(JRF) and Lectureship. Eligibility criteria:- Those candidates who wants to apply this exam is complete Post-graduation with atleast 55% marks from a recognised university. 5% of mark relaxation for SC/ST candidates. The candidate should be a citizen of india. Age criteria:- The age limits for JRF is the minimum age to apply this exam is 18 years and there is no maximum age limit for JRF. NET exam held twice a year, in the months of June and December for jrf and lecturership.
Notifications comes in the months of March and September in Employment News and ugc website. Eligibility:- Candidate should be Post graduation with 55% from any recognised university.Reserve candidate should have 50% marks in PG. Age for jrf is maximum 28 year. Relaxation for reserve category. No upper age limit for lecturership. |

For giving UGC NET u need to have a master Degree with minimum 55% of marks. You can choose any subject from your master degree.UGC NET consists of three papers 1) General studies (50 objective questions) 2) Your optional paper (50 objective questions) 3) Your optional paper (Subjective questions) For Junior Research Fellowship-max 28yrs. NET stands for national eligibility test.
NET Examination is conducted by UGC, 2 times in year. One in the month of June and Other in the month of December. And to appear in this examination, you need Master degree from a recognised University and Colleges. So if you have secured at least 55% marks in your Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from recognised universities, then you are eligible to apply for NET examination. The Final year Master degree candidates are also eligible to apply for UGC NET examination. Age Eligiblity - For Lectureship - There is no upper age limit for applying for lectureship. For Junior Research Fellowship - Your age should not more than 28 years, The upper age relaxation is only applicable for SC, ST And for OBC Candidates. If you are interested, then you can apply for NET examination online By visit the UGC Official website. But before fill the application form you need to deposit the fees as a challan in state bank of india branch. You can easily download the Bank Challan Performa from the UGC website OR take photocopy from the UGC-NET Notification published in the Employment Newspaper and then deposit the requisite test fee in any branch of State Bank of India. Hello Friend, The NET or National Eligibility Test is conducted for the Lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship program. The minimum qualification for you to be eligible to sit for this exam is a Masters degree with a minimum marks of 55%. If you belong to the SC/ST/PWD category then 5% relaxation is allowed meaning your minimum marks should not e below 50%. Your age should be between above 19 years for the Lectureship program whereas the Age criteria for the Junior Research Fellowship program should be between 19 to 28 years. If you belong to the SC/ST/PWD category then again 5% relaxation is allowed. |

Junior Research Fellowship : Your age must Between 19 to 28 years for JRF. Upper Age Relaxation is Allowed for SC/ST, OBC candidates as Per rules of Govt. Examination Scheme : 3 Exams Conduct for NET exam. 2 Exam is Objective and 1 is Descriptive Types. There is no Negative Marking in NET examination.
