If a candidate completes their Compartmental bachelor degree, from a "Recognized University" then he/ she is certainly eligible to appear in CDS (Combined Defense Services) Examination. If the certificate issuing body is not a recognized university, then those candidates who pursue their Bachelor Degree through compartmental mode they are not eligible to appear in CDS Exam. Combined Defense Services (CDS) Examination is basically conducted for giving admission into several trades namely, Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officer Training Academy.

Educational Qualification Required:

@ For Naval Academy: B.Sc with Physics and Mathematics (Or) Bachelor of Engineering

@ For Air Force Academy: B.Sc with Physics and/ Or Mathematics (Or) Bachelor of Engineering

@ For Indian Military Academy & Officer Training Academy: Degree of a recognized University or equivalent.

Yes of course you are absolutely eligible to apply for CDS examination. Since it is the Examination for candidates who have completed graduation from the recognized University with minimum percentage of marks.

But there is No such requirement of percentage for CDS. But for each and every wing in defense sector you have to satisfy the Separate qualification.

For Indian Army : Any graduate

For Indian Navy and Indian Air Force : B.Sc or B.E/B.Tech with Maths, Physics and Chemistry are the Main subjects.

In fact Distance education and Regular mode are almost similar in the sense of Availability of Jobs in government sector.

So you don't worry about your qualification. But you should have certain Age limits for different wings.

For Indian Army -- 19 to 24 years

Indian Air Force -- 19 to 23 years

Indian Navy -- 19 to 22 years

For Officer's Training Academy -- 19 to 25 years.
