Is it possible for a student from Arts stream to join in the National Defence Academy (Army)?

Yes it is definitely possible for an arts stream to join National Defense Academy but only in the Indian Army as for other two wings i.e; Indian Navy and Indian Air Force only science stream students are eligible.

Now for joining Indian Army you will have to clear the NDA examination for which the qualifications required are as here under :-

* You must be an unmarried male Indian candidate.

* Your age must lie between 16.5 years to 19 years.

* You must have completed your 12th or equivalent degree with any stream from a recognized institute.

* You must be physically and mentally fit as per the service norms.

The same examination is held twice every year by Union Public Service Commission and are commonly called as NDA I & NDA II. Also the examination is held in two stage out of which the stage one is called as Written test where as stage second is called as Service Selection Board Interview.

Yes, you can Indian Army through NDA exam because you have completed 12th stream in Arts stream.

NDA stands for National Defence Service exam. NDA Examination is conducted for 3 wings-Indian Air Force, Indian Navy and Indian Army.

The candidate's who have completed the 12th standard from a recognized board or equivalent exam are eligible for NDA exam. Final year of 12th standard candidate are eligible for NDA exam.

Your age should be in between to 16.5 years to 19.5 years. There is no age relaxation for SC/ST candidates.

Written examination will be divided into 2 parts-

Mathematics-300 marks.
General ability Test- 600 marks.

Total time duration for 2 papers is 300 mins

General Ability Test -

English 200 marks
General Knowledge 400 marks

Certainly, Arts stream students are eligible to join in defence academy(NDA) for Army wing.
As you know NDA(National Defence Academy)is conducted by Union Public Service Commission 2 times in a year so that you are to follow few requirement.

NDA Requirements:-

1.Educational Qualifications: A student having 12th standard from the recognized University.can do NDA to join in Army/Navy/Air Force wing.

2.AGE: Minimum 16.5 years and maximum 19 years require's to apply.

3.Nationality: Indian.

4.Only Indian male can apply.

5.Marital Status: Must be single.

6.Eye Sight: Must be normal and free from colour blindness.

7.Height: Minimum 152.7cms, relaxations available.

Following above eligibility Arts candidate can apply for Army wing.
