the ntpc will soon release the notification for its selection exam,
but as you are in third year you are not eligible for the exam,
you have to be either in fourth year or cleared graduation to write the exam

Right now NTPC is not conducting any exam for the engineer candidates. but whenever the notification regarding the exam would be issued then Iwill post the details here. or you can visit its official website by regular visit.

The minimum eligibility for the job in ntpc is to have the agregate percentage more than 65%.

the eligible candidates have to write a selection test. In that test the qualified candidates will be promoted to next round where they have to sit for the group discussions. The candidates who have cleared this round will have to face the final round personal interview.
This is the procedure in which the candidates are selected for the job in NTPC
TEST CENTERS:
The selection test will be held in 27 cities as mentioned in the online Application system. Candidates have to choose any two cities as preference-1 and preference-2, as Test Center and no change in any circumstance will be considered subsequently. However, NTPC reserves the right to cancel or add any center depending on the response of the candidates for that area / center.

from 2012, NTPC is recruiting engineers from GATE-2012 only.

for this you will have to score good rank in GATE. So that they will call you for personal intrview.
