what is the procedure to get into merchant navy after doing b.tech in computer science ? is it beneficial to join it?

after completion of your b.tech you are needed to pass the entrance exam in order to get into it. for exam date and form read employement news and also daily news papers regularly.

i had completed b-tech(electrical) n now i want to join merchant navy.give me solution

hii,

Indian navy is a different way to choose a carrier ..
After btech or within btech you have a chance to fill the CDs form through it you get direct admission in Navy..

To get a job in merchant navy, first of all, you will need to join merchant navy at entry level in any of the following department.
1.Navigational department
2.Marine engineering
Educational Qualifications Required:
The educational qualification to join merchant navy is a bachelors degree in nautical science (duration is 3 years) or marine engineering(duration is 4 years).
The eligibility to pursue these courses is 10+2 with physics, chemistry and maths.

The Major institutes which offers courses for Merchant navy for the candidates who has qualified the entrance exam such as IIT JEE, AIEEE and others are:

1)The T S Chanakya, Karaus, Navi Mumbai.

2)Marine Engineering Research Institute, Taratolla Rd, Kolkata

3)Marine Engineering & Research Institute, Hay Bunder Road, Mumbai.

4)Directorate General of Shipping, Jahaj Bhavan, Ballard Estate, Walchand Hirachand Marg, Mumbai.

If you have completed your bachelors degree in nautical science, you may join merchant navy as deck cadet and as a junior engineer after marine engineering programme.
