sir , i am doing bsc from rajasthan university . is there any procedure that i can take admission in bsc nautical science in merchant navy institute???

B.Sc in Nautical Science

B.Sc in Nautical Science is three years programme approved by Directorate General of Shipping, Ministry of India, Govt. of India. On successful completion of this course, one can become captain of a ship.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Minimum requirement for entry is 10+2 with at least 60% marks in PCM & 50% marks in English.
  • Age : 17-25 years.
  • Candidates must meet certain physical standards and eyesight should be 6/6 in each eye without any visual aids and free from colour blindness.

Top Institutes
There are many colleges/universities offering B.Sc in Nautical Science. Among them few top names are as follows :
  • Indian Maritime University, Kochi
  • Indian Maritime University, Chennai
  • International Maritime Academy, Chennai
  • Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training, Tamil Nadu
  • Haldia Institute of Maritime Studies & Research, West Bengal
Admission procedure varies institute to institute. Indian Maritime University takes admission through IIT jee. Whereas in many institutes one can directly apply for admission. Detailed information is obtainable from the official websites of respective institutes.

I am interested in a career in the merchant navy in the navigation side. I understand that ins Chanakya is one of the training institutes. Which are the other govenment institutes and universities offering this course?Please provide full details.
