Please tell me that is it necessary to know the swimming to join the merchant navy. I am asking that because i don't know..??

No. It is not compulsory that swimming must be to join merchant navy.

Eligibility
You must have completed your graduation in B.Sc(Nautical Science) or Marine Engineering from a recognized university.
