Qualification required for IPS studies? Process including entrance exam if any?


What is the qualfication for ips study and what is applying process and this studies or provide government or private institutions is there any entrance examination for entry

Qualification required for IPS studies is Graduation degree.

One who wishes to become an IPS officer has to write UPSC Civil Services exam .

IPS stands for Indian Police Services .

The eligibility criteria to appear in the Civil Services exam are as under :-

-The candidate must be an Indian .

-The candidate must have passed graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university.There is no percentage bar for the marks secured in Graduation degree to appear for the exam .

-The candidate who are in the final year of their degree can also appear for Preliminary exam .

-The candidate age limit to apply for the exam is from 21 years to 30 years . The upper age limit is relaxed for OBC candidate by 3 years and 5 years for SC/ST candidates .

- The eye sight required for a IPS officer are

6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye.

6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye.

- The candidate should not suffer from color blindness or night blindness defect .

The selection process involves of

* Preliminary Exam

Preliminary Examination consist of two objective type papers i.e., General Studies and CSAT(Civil Service Aptitude Test) of 200 marks for each paper .

* Main exam

Mains Examination consist of 7 conventional type papers of 1800 marks .

* Personality Interview and Group Discussion .

The notification regardind the exam is published in the Employment news/Rozgar Samachar and in some leading newspapers of the country in the month of December .

Qualification required for IPS exam:

You should have passed bachelor/graduation degree from a recognized university. There is no percentage requirement.

Your age should be between 21-30 years. Age relaxation is given to reserved category candidates.

There is restricted number of attempts for different category.

You must be physically as well as mentally fit.

You have to apply CSAT exam which is conducted UPSC every year.

After clearing CSAT exam, you have to clear Mains exam.

Interview is final stage to become IPS officer.

If you have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognized university then you are eligible for IAS/IPS exam.

Age Criteria:

For General: 21 to 30 years
For OBC: 21 to 33 years
For SC/ST: 21 to 35 years

No. of Attempts:

For General: 3
For OBC: 7
For SC/ST: No Restriction

Physical fitness criteria for IPS exam:-

Height

For Men : 165 cm(AROUND)
For Women :150 cm(AROUND)

OBC /SC/ST :

Male:160 cm and female :145 cm

Chest

Male candidates-84 (+ 5cm).

Female candidates-79cm(+ 5cm).

Eye Sight

IPS stands for the Indian Police Service and to become an IPS officer you have to appear and qualify in the civil services examination conducted by the UPSC every year.

The required qualification to appear for the examination is candidates must have passed the graduation from the recognised university and the age must be between the 21-32 years with the relaxation in the upper age limit for the reserved category candidates.

The examination is conducted in the three stages as Preliminary, Mains and the Interview and it is necessary to qualify in all the stages for the final section. To get the syllabus for the examination and for the other query about the examination visit at the www.upsc.gov.in.

Eligibility to become IPS Officer :

<> You should complete graduation from the recognized university with minimum percentage of marks.

<> There is No restriction on specific branch and also specific percentage of marks.

<> Age should be in between 21 to 30 years.

<> There is a Age relaxation available for all the reserved candidates as per government norms.

<> Final year candidates of graduation are also eligible to apply for " IPS "

To become IPS Officer you need to write " UPSC Civil's " Examination. This Exam is conducted by UPSC once in a year. You need to give Prelims, Main's and Interview to crack IPS Examination.

Qualification required for the Indian Police Services:

~~The minimum qualification is bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Final year graduation candidates can also apply for the exam.

~~The age limit is 21-32 years. Three years age relaxation for OBC and five years for SC/ST candidates.

Entrance exam is called Civil Services exam for the IPS. Online application is done at www.upsconline.nic.in.

The eligibility criteria for IPS officer are as follows.

-Candidate must have completed his/her degree from the recognized University,
-Candidate must be the citizen of India/Nepal/Bhutan.
-Candidate age must be between 21-30 years,
3 years of age relaxation is given to OBC Candidates and 5 years is given to SC/ST candidates.
-Candidate's height must be above 165 cms for men and 150 cms for Women.5 cms of relaxation is given to ST candidates.

As mentioned in the criteria the qualification you need to have is you must have completed your degree in any stream of your like.

If you satisfy all the requirements then you have to apply for the Civils test conducted by UPSC.

Once you qualify the entrance test there will many other Physical fitness tests and personnel Interview.If you crack all these rounds then you will be appointed as an IPS Officer.

The IPS exam is conducted once in a year by UPSC board.

Eligibility for IPS :

1. A candidate must be a citizen of India.
or
2. A subject of Nepal, Bhutan or refugee of Tibet etc
3. A candidate must complete bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
4. A candidate must complete 21 years of age.
5. The maximum age limit is 32 years.

There is also upper age relaxation for OBC, SC/ST and ex-servicemen and government employees
1. The age relaxation for SC/ST candidates is 5 years.
2. The upper age relaxation for OBC candidates is 3 years.
3. For ex-servicemen the age relaxation is 5 years.

No. of times writing the exam is based on the caste :
1. General candidates can write the exam up to 6 times.
2. OBC candidates can write only up to 9 times.
3. There is no such limit for SC/ST candidates .

The written exam is of 2 papers
1. Preliminary exam
2. Main exam

After the written exam, there will be physical test, medical test, documents verification.
