Sir, My date of birth is 11.11.2001 and pursuing 2 now which would be completed in March 2017. As per present minimum age of 17 years ,it appears difficult to appear for AIPMT 2017 . Would you kindly guide me as to whom I should approach to seek relaxation in minimum age for AIPMT 2017 in view of the fact that CBSE itself has removed the condition of minimum age to appear for class 10 ,early commencement of schooling ,removal of minimum age limit for CLAT and Engineering etc.
I have been outstanding student throughout my studies so far and secured 10 CGPA in secondary examination conducted by CBSE in 2015. Kindly also guide me whether any court has announced their verdict on the issue so far .

AIPMT stands for All India Pre Medical Test.
From 2016 onwards, AIPMT is replaced by NEET.
NEET stands for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test.

Students who have completed their 12th board examination or going to appear in it in 2017 with subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology securing more than 50% marks from any recognized board are eligible for NEET.
Also, student must have completed 17 years on or before 31st December.
Maximum age limit to appear in NEET is 25 years.

As mentioned, your date of birth is 11-11-2001. So, you are not going to complete 17 years in 2017.
Also, there is no relaxation in minimum age.
So, you will not be eligible to appear in NEET 2017 by any means.

Sorry, but you can't appear in AIPMT 2017 the minimum age for this exam is 17 years. There is age relaxation for upper age limit not for lower age limit. I think you should prepare well for 1 year and after that you will be eligible for this exam. Thanks

No, if your age is not above 17 years as on 31st December of 2017 you will not be eligible to appear for NEET examination to get admission in medical course.

As, per CBSE guidelines to appear for NEET examination. Yes, it is true that CBSE has no age criteria to appear for 10th board examination but it leaves the age criteria upto respective state as per their state education directorates.

So, you or i cant do anything and not eligible to appear for 2017.

First thing I would like to make you know that AIPMT along with all other pre medical entrance test have been merged into a single entrance examination known as NEET.

NEET stands for National Eligibility cum entrance test which is held by CBSE once every year for admission in all government and private medical colleges of India for undergraduate medical course i.e; MBBS and BDS.

--> The minimum requirement for appearing in the same examination are as given below:

* You must have the nationality of India.

* You must have completed or pursuing your Class 12th in Science stream with PCB group with a minimum of 50% aggregate from a recognized board.

* Your age must lie within 17 years to 25 years by the 31st December of that year in which you are going to appear in the same examination. Further maximum age is relaxable upto 5 years for reserved category candidates.

So being born on 1.11.2001 you are not eligible for appearing in NEET 2017 as your age will be under 17 years which is not as per the age criteria for the same examination. Also there is no provision of lower age limit relaxation.

It is a National level Medical entrance examination which is conducted by CBSE for offering admissions to selected candidates under 15% All India Quota seats in MBBS/BDS courses in Government & Private Medical/ Dental colleges of India except in the States of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu & Kashmir.

The age criteria required to appear in AIPMT 2017 examination is mentioned below :-

=> You should have to attain the minimum age of 17 years old as on 31st December, 2017 to be eligible to appear in AIPMT 2017 examination.

As per the information you have mentioned in your query, your DOB was 11.11.2011, that means, you will attain the 16 years 1 month at the time of 31st December, 2017, as there is no relaxation in minimum age limit, you are not eligible to appear in AIPMT 2017 examination.

No, there is no verdict of any court relating to minimum age for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. AIPMT has been replaced by NEET. NEET is conducted by CBSE for admission of candidates into MBBS and BDS courses.

Age criteria for NEET:

Candidate must have attained minimum age of 17 years on 31st December of year of exam. For 2017, a candidate must be minimum of 17 years on 31st December, 2017. You will 17 years on 11th November, 2018.

There is no chance for you to appear for this year exam and at present, there is no such relaxation to be announced.

Eligibility criteria for AIPMT 2017 :-

A candidate must have done 12th from recognised board with at least 50% marks in aggregate in Chemistry, Biology and English .

Age 17 - 25 years and relaxation of 5 years in upper age given to reserved categories.

As per the eligibility criteria a candidate must have done 12th standard with physics, chemistry and Biology from a recognised board with at least 50% marks and minimum age required to appear in this entrance exam in 17years. Hence if you do not complete 17 years in the 2017 then you are not eligible to appear in this exam. Let me tell you there is no age relaxation in lower age limit . Relaxation is provided only in upper age limit.

AIPMT is All India Pre Medical Test.

CBSE which earlier used to conduct AIPMT for MBBS and BDS admission now conduct National Eligibility cum Entrance Test.

Eligibility criteria for NEET exam:

1. Higher Secondary from recognized board and you should have at least 50% marks in board exam of 10+2 and subjects must include Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

2. Minimum Age limit on 31st December of year of admission is 17 years.

You will complete this minimum age on 11th November in 2018 and hence you are not eligible for NEET 2017.

There is no verdict by either High or Supreme court on this issue. You can not claim minimum age relaxation as there is no such condition.

Being born on 11.11.2001 you are not eligible for appearing in NEET ( formerly AIPMT ) 2017 as your age does not satisfy the age criteria for NEET.

For appearing in NEET 2017, you are age need to lie within 17 years to 25 years by the 31st January 2017 which is not the case with you as your age is around 16 years and 2 months by the due date. Also as there is no provision of minimum age limit relaxation so it is not possible for you to appear in NEET 2017.

One thing I would also like to let you know that, to solve the issue of minimum age limit for various examination CBSE has decided minimum age limit for Class 10th board examination which is 14 years and 5 months by the 1st March of that year in which you are going to appear in your board examination which is going to be implemented from the current session.

So Prepare your subjects as Physics,Chemistry and biology.Be strong in these Subjects for Next Year.
