The below requirements are needed in medical test.......
Your vision in one eye must be perfect. In general medical terminology, it is called 6/6 eyesight. In the other eye, you could have an imperfection of 6/9, which must be correctable to 6/6. General physical fitness is mandatory. You must be free of any disease that can hamper normal function You must obtain a medical certificate of fitness from doctors designated by the Director General of Civil Aviation. Only two bodies in India [ Images ] -- Air Force Central Medical Establishment in New Delhi [ Images ] and the Institute of Aviation Medicine, Bangalore -- are authorised to give you a medical fitness certificate. |

i will not give you a answer which may either dissapoint you or in other words prove me wrong , but i want to let you know some of the medical conditions required for commercial pilots all over,, they are one must have a 6/6 eye sight +1 or -1 is permissible to some extent for civil sector and physically a person be fit and regarding the internal details of being perfect to fly a plane you need to go for a medical examination and see if they approve you then there is no prob or if they dont then you have to check some other field or get you defect rectified so that you can fly a plane.. all the best to you and good luck..

hi friend,
In commercial pilot , a medical test is performed by Armed Forces Central Medical Establishment (AFCME) and after that a medical Fitness Certificate issued during PPL training. A candidate has to undergo for a AFMC doctors, and they declare whether you are pass or not. I suggest you to consult with any defence (preferably air force ) doctor in this regard because sometime a civil doctor may clear your medical status but it could not be desirable for AFMC doctors. |

Is there any eligibility criteria based on the height of the candidate to be a commercial pilot in India or in any other country?
In some recent news some ammendments have been made regarding the vision Can a person fly a plane using contact lenses? |

Yes you can still be a pilot. But kindly ensure that after using corrective glasses you can see perfectly. Other than that u must clear all other medical tests accordingly. You can also get me through at flyhigh.aircrew@gmail.com for further info. I am a flight instructor by profession.

There is no exact weight, as it entirely depends on your height. Even if you are underweight or overweight you can still be a pilot as u can still pass your medical tests by having extra medical test. I am a flight instructor and for any other clarification you can reach me at flyhigh.aircrew@gmail.com. I was also at 50 kgs before but i cleared my medicals without any problem.
